my grandparents are seriously obsessed with oprah. i dont think theyve ever missed a show.. lol

I respect that you should have your own oppinions about religion or the lack of it in your life.

I was going to put the above video up on this reply. It is for others to believe in what they want, not what some one else thinks they should.

I met Oprah - was on her show. She’s not exactly friendly, but I think she cares more about helping people than ratings.

And I said that I agree, it is not about her ratings but her greed and manipulation.

Essence: Her hair had a bluish tint to it. I don’t know why. Maybe some product they use on it, or dye. But it only looked that way in person, and up close. It was a slight tint. Struck me as odd though.

Most people look at others that are wealthy and have abundance in their lives and are jealous and say that they are greedy and ‘Have all the money’.

Are you ever going to have abundance in your life if you think this way ?? NO

Whenever you come close to improving your live you will jeapodise it and go back to the old you, just so that you dont become wealthy and others dislike you for it.

Stay independant of the good opinion of others, im sure Opra would say this as well.

If you are un happy where you are and you want abundance in your life , love rich and sucesfull people.

If you are happy, fantastic, tell all on this forum how you mantain that, its a good help

Whatever thep. Shes a billionaire so i dont really think she cares what we say. To me shes making a difference in Africa, which needs to happen. Because im tired of cacasians thriving there when it belongs to afrians. Yet they are the ones who are dieing, they are the ones who are suffering, they are the ones who are taught to hate each other so they can murder their own brothers and sisters and so much more. Those are my people and i hate seeing them suffer in their OWN country.

So to see Oprah take her precious time, when she can be traveling the world on a oh so fabulous yacht, build a gorgeous school for so many girls who are deprived from an education puts a HUGE smile on my face :).

There for i have much respect for her not just because she has money

Most of these wealthy people head up charities and give alot more than the people who say money isnt important, its not personal its a view

Your opinion is as valid as anyones,

I really believe that one should be independant of the good opinion of others and live and run there own lives, im not preaching just explaining why most people are poor.

Look up your history, you will find an abundance of scools opened and taught by poor people. Doctors that healed others for no or little pay, the many unsung heros of time gone by. They are the real giants of our societies.

Ok but when you only look at the bad it just pisses me off a bit. No one is perfect she may well be manipulative or greedy but so what. As long as shes giving back and doing what she have to do then im fine. She came from nothing to something. Everyone is going to have as many haters as lovers. So with that said yes i respect your opinion.

Btw anon is right if we didnt have these “greedy manipulative” people these homes/schools/charities would not be in existence.

No poor person couldve done what some of these wealthy ppl have, i.e oprah could not have built that school if she were poor

Oprah started out so dirt poor and abused that she deserves every single dollar she has. She earned them all.

Totally agree, i didnt say rich was better than poor, poor people can be very compasionate, im not rich and i love helping people, what im saying is where the funding is needed the rich people come into there own. Some give millions to charities

That school was just a tiny drop from the ocean. When she has used all of the spare money she will never need to feed the hungry, build the schools, the hospitals and the rest of it. Then she will have earned respect.
Dont ever say I hate this person though, that is not the truth. Those poor people did give more than Oprah, they gave their all to help society.

But she helps in a different way too thep - she helps the masses. Through her tv show she helps many different types of people with many different problems. I’d be hard pressed to think of a problem she hasn’t covered on her show. If she gave all her time to one charity, she couldn’t help the masses anymore.

Are you serious? She put her hard work into that project. Not only did she interview girls (so there can be a black female president in the future) she interviewed people who were applying to be the principle. To make sure they get a respectable and honorable person and not just any old body.

That is not the only proj she has done thats just the one that stood out to me the most. That gave me the passion to want to get up and do something.

Look whatever you do to help is fantastic.

Why does it matter if the poor did more than she did. Seriously, remember she use to be poor. Why cant she just be another person giving back to society? She talks about her past a lot on the show so people wont forget her struggles. Her show is informative and interesting. They also cause people to think. I cant say that for the majority of the tv shows out there. But i guess you love jerry springer and maury. Well maury does do good i just hate the characters on his show. So i prefer not to watch.

Anyway thats your opinion and i respect it but i still have much respect for her and anyother person who is giving their all to benefit another human being

I think you know exactly what I am saying. Oprah does do a lot of good things, she also has the ability pull people apart.
Division of peoples spiritual beliefs is a dangerous way to go, I hope it is not going to be her downfall.
She is obviously one of your heroes, not a bad one to have.
I have my own oppinions about her and others, I considder that to be alright. You to have yours. At least we are going along the right road of listening to each other.

I dont think she does give her all, I think she does the things she does for selfish reasons. To make publicity for herself, as bieng a perfect person.

She’s not one of my heroes. I just respect her, like I respect many people.

Oprah does a lot of great things. She gives a ton of money to many many causes. And many of them, thep, you do not know about because she does not do them just for publicity. But some causes are worth bring attention to like her school in Africa and puppy mills and abuse and other issues that she has done shows on. She is so popular that if she discusses something on her show you will most likely see a difference made, as in a spike in donations to a cause or something like that.

It seems as if you are some one who is against all people that have a lot of money. You think you know why she does the things she does but you have no idea, do you?

It is wonderful when people who have little money go out and give their time to society, but saying that she does not deserve respect because she has money is ridiculous. She went out and had a career just like everyone else. She worked hard and made a lot of money. That does not mean her contributions to society mean any less than a poor persons. To say that is just plain silly.

She has done a lot of good things. I do not, however, follow the “stars” when it comes to my religious beliefs. I personally think that John Travolta and Tom Cruise, who are both “Scientologists,” are people with more money than brains. Then there’s Madonna who’s into Kabbalism, and then there were the Beatles, who had their own guru. It seems that the “celebs” who are not into “cults” are drinking or drugging themselves to death. I don’t care how popular they are, or how much money they make: being rich and popular does not mean they have come into possession of divine revelation. Also, this corollary: you cannot buy “class.” You can buy every piece of clothing on Rodeo Drive, and tool around in a Lamborghini, but that doesn’t mean that you have class. By the way, if Travolta and Cruise weren’t rich, I’m sure the “Church of Scientology” wouldn’t give either of them the time of day. But they could both afford the expensive “treatments” that Scientologists claim will rejuvenate your being . . . and feed your ego. No, very few Hollywood types or entertainers are “role models” to me. And do you know what? The biggest stars out there could be replaced in about five minutes–all of them.

If you are going to apply things to me, make sure they are truthful and not the lies you tell about me.
I dont hate this woman you seem to adore so much, I dont hate that she has money or power.
Because of her standing and that she is so rich, she has a moral obligation to do all she can to help others. That is what she has people all over the world believing, that she helps all needy people every where, whenever and however she can.
My oppinion is that she doesn’t do this but she only does the things that bring in good publicity, for her own over grown ego.
This latest venture of forming her own church, is typical of the type of person she is, she wishes to be venerated by all.
I dont like the person in question, however I dont hate her. She is not worthy of so much emotion and effort. I am sure in the end she will be found out for what she is, a con artist.
If you dont like me or my views, it is no good trying to get me to see yours as the right ones. My views are the ones that I hold, yours the ones that you hold. There is no way there can be any compromise, as far as I can see.

It is obvious you are a christian type person and seem to portray that all of us are the same. I am not a son of God and cant ever see myself as being one. You hold a belief, that is right for you. I dont hold with that belief, that is what is right for me.
There is one other thing, I would like to ask you to explain. That is, what is a new age belief?
