I have a forget-me-not flower tattoo on my ankle. I got it to remember my son that died. Advice on getting a tattoo - choose something that will always be meaningful to you.
I have 2 that I know of…lol…
My first wife’s name on one arm and a sailor girl on the other……if I could do it all over again…..I wouldn’t.
I never really think about them anymore until someone asks me about them. However, I do see them everyday and they are a constant reminder to me that the human body is beautiful……..I just wish I hadn’t gotten them…..but that’s me…….
I’ve got one and two more planned. The first is a tattoo on my wrist that says “ab hinc” which if you knew my story would make sense. The other two, will be a phoenix on my back and the last will be a flower of my own design on my shoulder.
As chameleon just said definitely choose something that’s meaningful and definitely look up the studio you’re going to, check out the artists and make sure you dig their work before jumping into anything.
My above reply is a good argument for not replying when you are very, very tired….lol
well im not interested in getting one. i just know someone who is gonna get one very soon
Same goes for your friend, just if she’s planning on getting anything big, make sure she can handle it. Don’t let anyone lie to you, it is painful and it does take a toll on both your body and the artist’s
and im not too confortable with it besause i kno a lot of ppl regret it
I can understand that, it is a serious undertaking. If you’re really close to your friend and know how he* thinks talk to him, make sure he understands it’s a life long undertaking. This is art and it’s permanent, not something to be done just because you’re now legal, or because it’s ‘cool.’
yah i think thats exactly y hes doing it. he just turned 18 and he’s into all that art and expressing yourself stuff. but im scared he’ll regret it later and whoever he marries might not like the tattoo
There’s a lot of things that need to be thought about before getting a tattoo. Trust me, regretting it is the least of your worries. Many professions frown upon tattoos, yes it can interfere with your love life (though hopefully the person he does fall for will overlook the fact that he has tattoo(s) :D), they need to be taken care of, and there’s always that concern about when you get older and your skin sags/stretches. Talk to him and just reassure yourself that you know, he knows what he’s getting into.
Hm, an hour late but oh well. I have two tattoos, it’s one of the greatest experiences ever. I have music notes on my wrist, if I sing them they sound like the chorus of ‘Where is my mind’ by the Pixies, and my other is of a dove caught up in rose thorns on my ankle. The former is definately my favourite of the two, and I can’t wait to get some more. What’s your friend getting? I got my first tattoo as soon as I turned 18 (I still am 18), perhaps he should start off small so even if he does regret it later it’s not like something that covers his entire arm, back etc. Make sure he puts a lot of thought into what hes getting, ask him the meaning behind it or something, if he doesn’t have a good meaning tell him to wait till he thinks up something. He shouldn’t just get something that ‘looks cool’ cos it may not when he’s like 30. Gosh I love talking about tattoos =D
i have a tattoo. i have a phoenix on my right wrist. i found a design i liked drew it on to see it i would like it if id regret it. it started to warm on me the more i looked at it. see to me the phoenix means rising from the ashes, been able to over come any problem that comes your way. you see i have gone through so much in my life, form my brother been attacked by a dog when he was only 2 and i blamed my self for so many years, but also a life changing opp that if i didnt have that opp, i wouldnt be hear today writing on this blog. any way my point it, i took the time to see if i would regret it, and the fact that each time i saw it on my wrist and thought about what it ment to me i knew that i would forever love it.
It’s important to get a tattoo that’s meaningful to you. Not something stupid like your first wife’s name (no offense). But if there’s a possibility that that tattoo could one day become regretful, then don’t get it. I’m almost 17 years old and I really want my nickname, which is Little Doll, tattooed on my back. The reason I want it is because that’s what my Grandpa called me when I was little, and he passed away last year. I also want my zodiac sign tattooed above my elbow.
