I had a friend who committed suicide. Not a bad song.

I never heard of Rebel’s Insight but I liked the song. Do you know if they have produced a CD or are they still an unsigned band?

The song is good, emotional, passionate and I think good for family and friends of suicide victims because of the empathy it has for the subject… the way family and friends would feel.

I do however respectfully disagree that this this song would be good those thinking of suicide. One thing we never want to do with someone thinking of taking their own life is to dismiss their feelings, or make them feel guilty. I think this song would accomplish both.

I found a very good article on the subject… this is a great article for anyone that wants to be a helper on this site; if they want to help with suicide. I’m not trained in this yet, but I know some people here are… what this site says some very common-sense sort of things.

If anyone needs a reason not to from the perspective of the survivors…those left behind…I can tell you a very sad story. My son lives with his best friend’s last scream in his head…won’t ever go away but each year it fades just a bit. I had to watch my son, 14 at the time, try to cope with it…begging me to make it go away (the scream). My son’s best friend called to tell him thank you for being my only friend and to say good bye…prior to calling he soaked himself in gasoline. I’ll leave it at that. The boy was an honor student, college bound, no drugs, no alcohol, never been in any trouble of any kind…but he was depressed.

My son has always had a passion for life so it was difficult for him to understand.

It is very important to take people seriously when they express thoughts of suicide.

There is so much to live for…
