Well they will either splint it..rebreak it into position or give you some pain medicine heh
They will also tell you how bad it is

you gotta make sure its back into place and then splint it to make sure it doesn’t move for a while… s’the only way it’ll heal back into the right position

but don’t worry, toes arent that important anyway haha

good question… you’re gonna want to take a splint… or something rigid at least… and lay it across the top of your foot along your toe. medical tape the splint around your foot and around your toe so as to hold it in place.

if it doesn’t heal correctly, it’s not the end of the world, eh? especially since its the baby toe.

Here’s something from a professional website:

Splint the broken toe by taping it to an adjacent non- affected toe, padding between toes with gauze or Webril, and using half-inch tape. Immobilize for approximately one week, Keep the padding dry between toes while they are taped together or the skin will become mace rated and will break down.

Also treat with rest, ice, elevation, and anti-inflammatory medication. A cane, crutches, or hard-soled shoes which minimize toe flexion may all provide comfort. A soft slipper or an old sneaker with the toe cut out may be more comfortable.

What not to do:

Do not tape toes together without padding between them. Friction and wetness will macerate the skin between.
Do not overdo ice, which should not be applied directly to skin, and should not be used for more than 10-20 minutes per hour.

Although I’m not a physician I do tend to agree that they can’t do that much. When I broke a bone in my foot all they did was give me a hard-soled sandal and said to try and keep off it.

I don’t know the answer in general but I walked around on my foot when I broke a bone in it and it didn’t quite heal properly and still aches a bit occasionally, but nothing too bad.
