Thought help: im trying to think of a theme for my art portfolio for college…. - Help.com

happiness is good, they may see that as cliche though. “alive” wouldn’t be a bad idea, it would be a lot like happiness.

time - clocks, age, space, boredom… all sorts of images can come into that.

You could get some ideas by googling some galleries and seeing what sort of exhibitions are running (photographers in particular often work to themes)

i liked happiness myself….and the opposites theme….but what do i know…i mean, how in the world can happiness be bad? unless its not arty enough! have to suffer for art and all that haha

haha well i hav a few ideas now, happiness, alive, time, air, age, dark -v- colour, happy -v- sad, transitions, growth, beauty - v- reality (bittersweet).

you could also do progress vs ….well - do urban vs nature and call it ‘progress’ vs oh never mind

How about “The secret life of water” Book.How different words affect everything around them.

you could make a “story” out of your work…for ex. i had to make a pictorial story for an art class at my college so you could take each page and have it correspond with the next page and so on and when the reader gets thru it they will see an entire portfollio that goes together other than something that could be to choppy
