homework help: I’m making such stupid mistakes on math tests. - Help.com

I’m making such stupid mistakes on math tests.

I know the material so well, I do all the homework, and study a fine amount before time. I’m in a full or no credit class, so its either you get the problem right or wrong. I keep finishing the problems, but forgetting to put in the little things, like reducing, adding a negative sign. Not factoring last answers. Just stupid stuff, I tried so hard on the last two tests but couldn’t stop myself. Please, give me a few tips. I NEED TIPS.

make sure you take time on each question.
and instead of handing the quiz/test in
check it thuroghly (spelled wrong) waiting
for the time to run out. i used to rush through
tests and make stupid mistakes because i felt like
everyone was racing. but i feel better now that i
check it. they may have finished it faster but i got
the better grade=]

I got a C in Algebra because of that.

Basically do what hockeysticks said and triple check everything.

But I do know that I would do that, but still not see the oodles of mistakes, my brain just skipped over them. In that case, if you can leave the room during a test, go to the bathroom, clear your brain, and come back and edit as if it wasn’t your paper, but some one elses.

I was horrible in math. The kid behind me would look over my shoulder at my lousy grades when the teacher returned papers. He really tore me up over it. I followed him home one day. When he was unlocking his door, I clubbed him in the back of the head. He wound up with a fractured skull. I wound up in jail. At least we don’t do math here.
