Week help: What do you think? - Help.com

What do you think?

Should I attend a job examination tomorrow? It’s a jr. programming job. I honestly included in my resume that my degree is different and that I only knew the basic of some programming language (like basic, c, pascal). They are training people, though, so I guess it’s no big deal.

I tried applying for the position months ago. But they only replied today and, yeah, wants me to take an exam. The problem is, I don’t feel like going anymore. =/

If it’s time, I think I’ve a little plenty of it. I’m taking graduate studies and my sched is only 2 times a week. I’ve got a business but I don’t need to regularly visit the shop.

I really don’t feel like going anymore but… maybe some of you guys have something to say?

OK, I think I am confused. IF you did not want the position, why did you apply in the first place? I am not sure what you mean about saying you have a different degree than you do. You mean you said you had training you do not actually have? Some people can pull this off, but it is not wise to do this because if hired, at some point you will have to prove yourself and you could come out looking silly. I would go to the exam though because it is already set up. Show them what you have and then if you get hired, the option will be your own as to whether or not to take the position. If you do not go at all, and later on decide you want to work there, then you will be considered a no show.

Ah. Thanks guys. But it seems I made up my mind in the first place. ^^’ I shouldn’t even have bothered posting a silly question here.

But to answer…

I’m trained to, well, be in some very unrelated but equally technical job.

I decided not to take the exam. They are asking for confirmation anyway and I haven’t sent my reply yet. And it’s a mass examination invitation so I guess… uhm… *shrugs*

I applied before because I thought it’s what I’d like to do. But I was confused back then. Well, I’m still confuse. But I do not want to take another half-hearted step.

Anyway, I’ll try to think about it tonight before I sleep.

Thanks for the thoughts. I’ll remember them tonight.
