life help: Is America truly happy? - Help.com

Is America truly happy?

It’s been proven that exercise and eating right are key factors to feeling good. The U.S. population is terribly overweight and the situation is growing worse by the minute. So why is it that we seem to have everything except for what is one of the most humanistic and important self-aspects in life, health.

What are your thoughts on this?

I am not so happy right now. The way things are going with this country we could all end up in the sewer system.

The diet of americans are horrible. I was watching oprah the other day and the dr called the majority of children “white kids”. Meaning most people in america children eat white bread, white pasta, white rice, and white sugar. Those are all horrible foods that should be banished! lol. No but seriously those foods are not only bad and unhealthy but addicting as well.

Yes white bread. You know there are whole grain or brown bread and whole wheat bread. White is the worst because its processed and turns into fat faster than grain or wheat. But grain is the best i.e Whole grain bread, whole grain rice, whole grain pasta. Even brown sugar is way better than white sugar

I saw a report on the happiness of various nations, and I think the Dutch came in as the most happy. It had more to do with low expectations than with emotional highs.

I’m happy some of the time, but tend to worry about the move in America toward the police state mindset (a la Eastern Europe during the Cold War), what with surveillance of citizens and the loss of due process in the name of security.

Probably if you took a poll (go ahead) you’d find that help.com doesn’t rate as the happiest lot either. If we didn’t need help we wouldn’t have landed here.
