Mind help: I’m sort of worried about my memory. - Help.com

I’m sort of worried about my memory.

Sometimes I can’t remember if I fed my pets 5 minutes ago, where I left a book I was reading, or what my family’s voices sound like! I’ve always had a good memory, so I’m not sure what’s wrong.

Are you taking anything that you never took before?

Do you mean medicines and things? Or drugs? Neither.

How old are you if you don’t mind me asking?

Could it be age related?

I don’t think it’s aging or Alzheimer’s…I’m only 14. :)
But we’re moving to a place I REALLY don’t want to go to, I’m going to a new school in the fall and leaving all my friends, and I used to have an eating disorder. Do you think that might be it?

Thank you! But I don’t know what to do about it. I can’t really STOP all the stress. My mom is really set on moving to the new place. And if I told her about my memory, she’d probably tell me to “Stop being so dramatic and acting like you have such a terrible life.”

Yeah sounds like you are suffering from stress!

And i don’t mean that lightly. People get treated by doctors for stress and it has to be taken seriously.

You need to do what you need to do to be happy and satisfied with yourself.
