What?

The website can keep track of when you post things (or even just visit) even if it doesn’t display it, if thats what you’re asking.

Maybe I was not clear… If I read an article on a given website, the date is often omitted from the article. Is there a way I can find out how current the information is? Is there a date imbedded in the website that notes when the article was posted?

You mean to ask if a website does not have a date on its information, is there anyway to find out when that information first appeared?

The simple answer: no.
The longer answer: you can try the Wayback Machine ( http://www.archive.org/index.php ) if it is a major enough of a website to see how far back the information goes, but that’s about it. Basically, having a date on articles or information is up to the owner of the website.
