And I’d give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You’re the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be
And I don’t want to go home right now
And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
Cause sooner or later it’s over
I just don’t want to miss you tonight
And I don’t want the world to see me
Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
And you can’t fight the tears that ain’t coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything seems like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know your alive
And I don’t want the world to see me
Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
I don’t want the world to see me
Cause I don’t think that they’d understand
When everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
“Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls
Currently taking a class in college and our topic for the day was whether anything is really what it seems. Such as , lyrics to a song(above), the emotions you put forth, love, sadness, bitterness, spite, but even more so, gratitude, and well-being. Really, as human beings, do you think that we ever set anything straight, or do we hold back and say what sounds right. I’ve noticed that many people do it sub-consciously, just wanting to please others. It seems that everything has an underlying message. My father once told my brother that what a woman says, is never what she means. But, is it really just women? Can’t this apply to anyone? Well, my question is why do people shadow themselves from the truth? Are we really afraid of the results? Any comments are welcome.
