post help: Random Poem Competition! - Help.com

Cool post! I’ve started to do poetry but I haven’t finished any yet. How long is the post going to be up for?

(THE THEME IS COPIED!)
The magic box:

I will put in my box:
A cry of pain;
A smothering scilence;
A towering fern in a gloomy wood.

I would put in my box:

The sweet smell of honey;
the choking smell of smoke;
The way words linger.

I will put in my box:

The beast inside;
The teasing child;
The pointing finger.

My box is carved from ice and cushioned with silk,
It hinges are foggoten words and in the corners supriese do dwell.

I shall slumber in my box in the long swaying hands of the grabbing grass,
and wake up in the drifting snow.

Well here is part of a poem that I am working on. Remember this is my FIRST attempt and it isn’t anywhere near completion. So apologizes if it s ucks.

A Friend Like You
=================
You can live at my home,
or far away.
No matter what,
I’ll be thinking of you everyday

You tell me you’re loyal,
yet I deny.
However still,
you remain here just to testify

If I am sad or scared,
I find you here
protecting me
making my day and fighting my fear

REMEMBER, this is my first attempt and is NO WHERE NEAR completion.

My poem i just did of the top of my head coz I was thinking of the original o if it was crap, soz!

I know the poems were supposed to be off the top of your head, but I just wanted to post the one I started. Sorry :S

I hate that bloody ginger cat,
that visits my back garden.
It leaves it’s message every time
and that I will not pardon.

That bloody cat has been around,
it’s done it once again.
If it does it one more time,
I’m bound to go insane.

That bloody cat is not so bold,
it’s visits are getting rarer.
It must be going some where else,
since I bought the cat scarer.

That bloody cat has gone for good,
of that I am quite certain.
So this poem ends right here,
I pull the final curtain.

When I sleep I wonder why,
Why there are dots up in the sky?

I make my eyes so blurry like,
they fuzz around like little kites.

I laugh and fall into my sleep,
knowing that my mom will shreek,

In the morn when she awakes,
Connor smeared with her brand new cakes.

I still wont wake for I will know,
That its a dream, for I see snow.

Knowing its just a dream,
I think about what is my theme,

Once it was a dream I shook,
A fall from a cliff is what I took.

Insted I thought about DDR,
Arrows and Arrows went up as far.

On and on with jumps and such,
I know I cant do, just not so much!

So I awake to Connor jumping on my head,
“Connor” I say “Waking me you could have said”

“Mommy mommy, I eat I eat?”,
“Yes bubby, just take a seat”.

So thats my night while my eyes were shut,
NOW YOU SEE WHY IM SUCH A NUT!

This is fun! I actually cant write poetry at all, but it is very fun to try! :D!

The fields,
are swept upon by a cold winter air
dead leaves,
rise from the ground into the air
water flows,
down the stream with such elegance and care

Tomorrow never comes, or so I’m told,
this carries on till we get quite old.
So until we die, each second be bold,
Tomorrow never comes, or so I’m told.

Life is fantastic, if you will let it be.
If you look for the good things but not the bad.
Find the beauty in it, you’ll never be sad.
Life can be fantastic for you and for me.

There is a frog called Griswold, a happy little fellow.
He is colored two different greens, some brown and lots of yellow.
He has a tongue that is quite long and has big floppy feet.
But for a frog, he is superb. In fact he’s very neat.

Mice like their cheese, tis a fact and snuffles is no exception.
She has a nose that’s specialy made, just for it’s detection.
It’s long and thin, is very cute. It will very often quiver.
It’s when it smells that special smell, it makes her stop and shiver.

A Limerick:

There once was a visitor from Mars,
Who was shocked to see so many cars.
Well since times were tough,
and he needed more stuff,
he stole one! And is now behind bars.

Its late here so I shall write one more before bed! lol!

here its late I wonder why,
I keep on looking at the sky,

Again I see so many stars,
thinking in the morn I shall put on Cars.

A movie my son so dearly likes,
And its made for little tykes.

He repeats things now I would have guessed,
Him saying Ka Chow is the best.

I laugh knowing my clock is right,
When I wake Ill be quite a site.

For here its almost One am,
My bed I think of in my head.

So as I type my eyes do flutter,
my concentration sways and clutters.

Night night I say with a yawn,
I would like to sleep and dream of fawns.

goodnight goodnight you know to well,
My morning is going to be a living h*ll….

lol! its true. Im so going to be a zombie when I wake up… one in the dang morning… im so…. tiard. night.
