Why do some people in life seem to get everything they
want on a plate and for others no matter how hard they try and how positive their approach it never seems to work out?

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
Things like what? A job, a phone, toys, home, nice lives, What?
You have to remember some ppl work to get the things they get and when you see them get it, It might come off as they got it with ease and didn’t work hard for it. But they actually did.
but some people are handed everything on a silver platter while others work very hard and never get anything. unfortunately it’s just the way life is.

Well those ppl are lucky. I’m not even handed things on a paper plate.
Just remember that the people who seem to have it all, well, their parents or somebody had to work hard to give that to them. So somewhere along the line somebody was smart and worked hard.
So start now…work hard and don’t expect the world to hand things to you.
You have to go get it.
And always be honest.
Going to be blunt with you.
“Those” people, Dont just get what they want, they work for it.
Everyone has a chance to excell, Its whats amazing about life. You just gotta try.
And if you are trying, then perhaps you need to evaluate your life. And stop looking outside of yourself for answers to your problems, For example.
1)Why do I get horrible boyfriends/girlfriends?
Well, What kind of people are you hanging out with? If you dont want a drunk to be your bf/gf dont hang around drunks. Its pretty simple.
2)How come that person has alot of money?
Because they worked for it (granted there are some people, like paris hilton, that havent worked for a dime, but thats a small percentage of people) Look at your budget, what are you spending unecessary money on? Stop buying new clothes each month, or stop trying to impress people with new gadgets, etc etc.
Honestly, the only reason you aren’t excelling like “those” people, is because you aren’t trying hard enough.
there is inherited money. many many many generations of people have been handed luxury. Then look at the working poor who can work two three jobs and still cannot afford a home to take care of their families
THere is inherited money, but thats a minority.
The working poor, are poor because they are spending stupid amounts of money on things they dont need. You have to be smart with your money, You can’t just blow it and expect to be handed more
If you are smart enough with your money, I don’t care how “poor” you may be, you can still make it to the top.
At first you have to sacrifice the “luxuries” like cable, eating out, etc.
No, not everyone has the chance to become a billionaire. It comes down to more than “working hard”. That is a very simplistic way to look at it. Some people are filthy rich for doing nothing and others work their entire lives and don’t acheive half that money
You don’t know much about the working poor
There are many stories of people who have gone from rags to riches.
they are not blowing money on things they don’t need. Food, shelter, those are necesseties
there are many stories but they do not represent most people. Thats why rags to riches stories are so unbelievable because they do not happen most of the time!
I have a good brain I am working hard but I’m an artist it’s not an easy field…and yes I have been told repeatedly I’m good, good enough, etc, but still 13 years on I still find myself serving coffee for a living…I am shooting for the moon and aiming pretty straight I would say but I keep seeing people around me being given stars without any struggle…That’s my point! Sometimes it’s hard to deal with
No you don’t really make sense.
Can you explain in further detail?
Well I’m not sure if anyone has helped me on this…I should point out I put the original post down…but I’m liking the discussion it’s spawned :)
If you look at how society works, it is built to keep people down. Some people, no matter how hard you work, are never going to achieve the wealth that others achieve. And it is not because they waste money on ‘things they don’t need” it is because the amount of money they make does not allow them to even afford the basic human needs.
Hard Work does not equal tons of money or huge success. It should, but it doesn’t

The answer is there is no reason why. It is just the way the world works
Well I’m also an artist and I’m working a full time job and so is my husband while we both play music and write songs on the side. Our dream is to eventually make enough money from music to be able to quit our jobs. Right now it’s hard work, but we are determined and we are going to do what we’ve set out to do. That’s all there is to it.
Lol, All you guys are pestimists
Seriously, People complain yet make no strives towards their goals.
Anyone can make it , maybe not be a billionaire or millionaire, but they can make it. They can have a three car garage and a white picked fence.
Yes, it is undenyable that people are born into bad situations, but that holds no control on how their plays out.
Those “working poor”, Have cable, They have air conditioning, Two cars, A dog, Hot water, They eat at fast food restaurents when they have food in the kitchen.
They remain poor because they are comfortable being so
You are apparently very talented and work hard and unfortunately you are serving coffee. Which happens to a lot of talented people. There is no reason why. Just because you work hard does not mean that in the end you will be a successful artist. I definitely wish you the best and hope you find success. But my point is, just because you work hard doesn’t guarantee some one success. And being a lazy *** doesn’t mean you won’t have everything handed to you.
Thanks for the words of support and encouragement :)
Ok Retro…gonna be blunt with you…your judgemental words are not helping anyone!
Judgemental?
Lol

People’s life situation does hold control over how their life plays out. Why do you think the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor? Is has nothing to do with the amount of work people do. Are you a working poor? My guess would be no. So I would like you to tell me how you know so much about them. And I’m not talking about the small minority of poor people who don’t work. I’m talking about the majority who work their ***** of and still can barely afford a place to live
I certainly am not a pessimist. Everyone who knows me knows I’m an optimist.
I HAVE to be an optimist about my music, and I have to maintain determination as I stated above. I’m going to do it or die, as striptease said.
The rich stay rich, because they aren’t crying and complaining everytime something bad happens to them. They make the best of it, They understand that life is about living, not dying.
The poor stay poor, because they aren’t trying, They don’t take chances, and they certaintly dont take sacrafices.
Am I a working poor? Haha you just fired the loaded gun on that question.
No, I’m not. I was =). I lived with my father and brother for 10 years, in a one bedroom apartment. All three of us worked jobs. And we didn’t have cable, hell we didn’t have a **** tv. One car, My dad drove. Two bikes, For my brother and I. We saved electricty, Took 5 min MAXIMUM showers. Did laundry only once a week and didnt eat out for about five years. We made ******* sacrafices, with big dreams. None of us went to college. We had it rough, But by god, we made it clear to ourselves we were going to get out.
And looky looky, I live on my own in a nice two bedroom apartment, I have my own car, Cable, I can afford to eat out.
My dad lives with his girlfriend in an extremely nice cabin. With all the luxuries.
My brother was able to move to New York, from Nc.
So yeah, Its possible, You just gotta work for it.
*sacrifices
In all those places I mispelled it
I agree with you retrospace18.
It’s impossible to work your butt off and not get anywhere.
You are always getting somewhere by working hard.
^
Just because you work hard does not mean you will get success. You are very judgmental towards the poor. You do not know how hard these people try or the chances they take. Saying they don’t try is most ****** up thing you can say. The only thing they can do is try because they have to survive. There are millions of people who work hard like your family did and never get out of that situation. And it DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY DID NOT WORK HARD.
I think its interesting that you call yourself a Democrat.

No it isn’t. And you wouldn’t understand that unless you have been there. You should step outside your box and learn a little bit about the world.
Retrospace18 has it right.
There are several steps from getting from poor to rich.
1. Do your homework. Learn all you can while in school. Read.
2. Work smart and hard. (Smart may mean take the lower paying job with a defined pension and health benefits.) The poor who don’t move out of poverty frequently have the immediate need mindset. They’d rather spend a dollar on soda or candy than invest ments. Investing at a young age is important. Hard means 60 hour weeks for a good 10 years.
3. Getting out of poverty takes time.
Of course the rich do not always stay rich. But generally, they do. And most often, they do. Just like of course some poor people get out of their life situations but generally, if you look at the poor as a whole, they do not.
It seems like I am one of the only people here who actually knows anything about this or has an education that is above 10th grade. So I will leave. But have fun bashing poor people

How in god’s name am I judging the poor? What the hell, I know what its like to be poor. Okay. You understand that? Got it through your head? Can I move on now?
Tell me. How is..Having Cable, Hot water, Eating out at fast food/restaurents, Having more than one car, Buying Unecessary things (like cell phones and dvd players) ; Trying hard? Thats being wasteful, And blowing your money on useless crap.
Here, Let me give you the number one key to getting out of a bad time.
SAVE.
SAVE.
SAVE.
Yes you can save! Even if its only 100 dollars a month. You ………can…….save.
Lol, And then you go as far as questioning my beliefs? Challenging how I stand on Political issues?
I grew up poor. My dad is reads and writes on a third grade level, and he was a maintenence man all my life. He provided for us, we had crappy cars my whole life, etc. But I’m a go-getter. I went to school for medical assisting, and I’ve been working for 3 years doing that now.
My logic was: I can’t make enough money and survive on minimum wage, so I have to go to school for something. So I did, and now I make pretty far above minimum wage, and I can save money. So that’s what my husband and I have been doing every chance we get.
We both work full-time and we’re investing in a CD account with our bank, we have savings, and we’re working on music and playing gigs.
I didn’t come from wealth, but we’re on our way there because we’re determined and we’re willing to make sacrifices–not eating out, etc.
I agree.
Nothingmattersnow’s attitude is exactly what’s wrong with all Americans in “poverty”.
His attitude is what keeps him there.
Exactly, We American’s, Have this attitude that life is easy. That we are suppose to get everything we want , when we want it, When in reality, Its not that way.
Yes, Getting out is going to be a *****. Its going to be hard. You are going to HAVE to make sacrifices, you are going to HAVE to work your *** off.
And like someone said before, You are going to have to play smart.
Thats all I can offer this post.
I knew what you meant:). That’s a good point you just made, too.
It’s very true that if you don’t have a goal, that’s what happens.
Even the book of Proverbs in the Bible says: Without a vision, the people perish.
Proverbs contains some excellent wisdom about money. And that’s what my husband and I have studied. I would highly recommend the book “The Richest Man Who Ever Lived”. It was written by a billionaire who made it by using Solomon’s wisdom.
Ok, sounds great! I need to finish it myself. It’s very good so far!
