Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
you could take notes in class and then look at them when you get home
get a tutor , or ask for help, if u are in a public school there are free resources
when you do tests are you allowed to bring in a cheat sheet? i would agree with alarm, write notes, an examples of how to do it, that way you can look back at your previous answers to find out how to do the other ones. Use those answers as a guide. and practice questions lots and lots before a test :)
Math is a funny thing, it’s not for every one. I’m quite good at math, my wife can’t stand it. You sound like my wife. She got through her math classes though so have faith.
What helped her was me explaining things to her in ways I know she would understand. What often happens is that the math class has one way of teaching things, but math can be done in multiple ways. Some ways are better for people then others; so if you and the class don’t jive it could be a problem. Getting a tutor can help, or maybe finding a person who knows you well and also knows math to show you in a way that they know you will understand.
It would help if your take notes and maybe ask questions.
i think it’s silly when one can’t use notes or books for math. if you don’t know how to apply the method, using a book or notes during a test isn’t going to make a difference. hopefully you get As on your coursework so even if you fail your tests you’ll still pass with a C.
Gotta find something you can relate math to. Like football, hockey etc.. Like back when I was in school my friend, was horrid at math a F half way through the year. He kept thinking he was stupid and I tried to help him. Then one day he was talking about horse raceing and showing me the stats, telling me how you figure them out and how to bet. I was like dude thats Math. So after that and a few sit downs in the libary he finihsed the year with a B.
Some people can comprehend math faster than others. I can not. I have to spend twice as long getting the formula down so that I can remember how to use it. My professor explained that math takes longer to comprehend for a lot of people but, teachers forget that and you are expected to comprehend it the same as English or science. Once I set aside a longer time period to work on math. I found it was easier, and I retained more. I think you also have to have an understanding of how and why the formulas work. Like in the above post, it might be easier to understand if you can see how it applies to everyday life.
Well my dad is a calculus teacher so everytime I have a test we go over the material like a hundred times and then I ace the test. So the important thing is to find someone to show you how to do it right the first time so that you don’t know any other way. I recommed a tutor or something
well there is a proven fact that if u study for 30 min u will remember the first and last 10 min so what ever u study for the 10 min restudy it
here a easier way to look at it
10 - you will remember
10 - you need to go back over this
10 - you will remember
i got that from my college instructor. i am only 15 and go to college because i am in early college all of high school and 2 years of college in 5 years and it free
take notes… what grade are you in?
it never occurred to me to actually read my math text because it initially math came so easily. I find that if you read your math text instead of treating it like a workbook, how to solve all of the problems is laid out in the chapter. it seems silly I know
i was not a good test taker at all! i could not take test to save my life! but what i did was go in after school and ask my math teacher if he could give me some advise for taking test. i could do the homework just fine, but when a test was in front of me i blanked. now he let us take used notes on quizzes but not on exams, which i had trouble on exams. so what he told me to do was wrote formulas and little equations on little sticky notes. and place them around my house. on my bathroom mirror, on my closet door, everywhere and surprisingly it helped alot! the little equations were the ones demonstrated in my text book.
