Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
i would personally take it back from where you got it from.. either let them show you… or have them exchange it..
thats what i thought but i was just wondering if it maby dosent charge well from the car or sompthing
have you tried to charge it in your house? you could possibly have a bad connection in the car… but if the light was on showing that it had connectivity in the car.. then there is probably something wrong with the device.
That’s unusual. I’ve got a Zen Vision M and have never had that problem. Have you tried using the reset button at the bottom and then trying to recharge it? There is a chance that it could be the actual charger.
no havnt tryed the reset as im on hols at the moment and dont want to left without films and music (i presume resetting wipes everything on the payer correct me if im wrong please). i havent tryed charging it from my pc at home yet but ill try when i get back.
I have had his problem with my Vision:M. Sent it off and the store replaced it. Within few months, the new had the same problem (I just think its a problem with its design as many people have this problem)
This is a link I had saved when I was trying and trying to save my vision so its worth a look:

Sadly, my mp3 player now sits in my bedroom pretending its a paperweight because the warranty had ran out and it still does not work :(
No it doesn’t. All the reset button does is does recover your player if it freezes up. I used the reset button loads of times and never lost my music, photos or films.
haha, when I saw the notice for this post, I thought it was about Zen as is meditation. I do not even know what Zen vision is.
Hi. My name is Traian and I’m from Romania. I suspect regarding charging problem, that if you try to charge the Zen through the mini USB port, the Zen will not charge without software. In other way, through mini usb port, you can only charge from a PC with software installed. From wall source or from car you can only charge through 5V DC port from docking station. I never tryed because I have not an 5V DC adapter, but if I get one, I’ll let you know the result.
Regards.
you do need the software installed it will only charge from pc.
if the dose not work get creative to replace it
Creative has installed a trick to get you to buy thier separate charger. The solution is very simple but a bit tricky to achieve. The mini USB plug has 5 connections instead of the 4 in the standard USB connector on the other end of the cable. One of the pins, the pin next to the minus connection of the 5 volts, needs te get the 5 volts which is connected to the pin on the other side of the plug. If you are handy you can open up the mini usb plug and soder a bridge into the plug so that it looks like:
+5v:data1:data2:+5v:-0v
where the two outside pins are the standard 5 volt connections and the pin second to the right [next to the -0v] gets the +5v too. This will worlkk and you will be able to charge your ZEN from any USB charger. If you are really handy you can achieve this with most mobile phone chargers. Unfortunately mini USB plugs are not available separately, you will always have to use a plug from an old cable.
word, SEWE!!! thanks for that post, by far the most helpful. I knew there was something funny about the way it only charged through the USB…
I’m not handy in the least, so I’ll just have to buy Creative’s car charger…DRAT.
