howto transfer mp3 from stasjonary to laptop?

how can i transfer all my music from the stasjonary PC(windows vista) to my laptop(linux Mint 5 Elyssa)?

possible to link both PC’s together with the cable i use to acces internet, or USB cable?

best way to do would be to use an Extrern Hardrive, but unfortantly i dont got one xD

There are several options there. If you have a network card in both computers, you can use a cable to connect them in a local area network (LAN). If you have internet access there is a good chance you have a network card. Or else you will have a modem. That can be used to connect the two as well through a phone line/cable. If you don’t have the right network or phone cable (for example if you access the internet wirelessly) you can always get some online storage and transfer the files there, than access the web with the laptop and get in.
There is also a good chance that you have either an USB-stick or an MP3-player. Both can be used to transfer files as well: just plug it into the stationary, copy the files, plug it into the laptop and copy again.

its 50 gig tho, with almost must have music xD

going away for a while, and i cant live without it :P

In that case I hope you won’t have to use a USB-stick! I’m not sure if LINUX will give you any trouble, but the beauty of LINUX is that there will be someone out there that has solved the problems if they do occur. Just search the forums if anything occurs.
