my boyfriend is in jail for something his friends did.

and noone believes him on anything he says anymore. but noone has the money to get him out either. hes been there about 2 1/2 months now and i feel incredibly alone. i feel i am the only one who cares for him anymore. we have been togther 2 years so i obviously have no intention of leaving him. but im the only one who visits him. how do i not feel so alone, and get the point across that im definately not going to leave him over this other than telling him

so NO one believes him, but you? that’s curious.

well, to answer your questions: “how do i not feel so alone, and get the point across that im definately not going to leave him over this other than telling him”

just keep writing and visiting. he’ll keep you company during visits and with letters and he’ll know by your reciprocation that you’re not going anywhere.

what happened was he lived with his friends and one day his friends went out and he was driving me home. his friends went out and stole thigns from ppls cars and kids bikes, endangered passing by cars also by throwing stuff at the windsheilds. well they called my boyfriend to pick them up and he did but they blamed what they did on him and he amy be in jail for a year with 4 years probation for them while they are free. hes not their friends anymore without a question

are you absolutely sure that after he dropped you off he didn’t join them? not that it matters, really, as he’s already locked up. if he’s sentenced to a year, he’ll do 8 mos. as long as he doesn’t make waves. the experience could actually be good for him, regardless of whether or not he “deserves” to be in there.

Does he have any evidence to prove his innocence? Do you have any eye witnesses that can comment on the issue or identify what was stolen from them and if they could identify who did it?

his case is his word against the other kids because it was 2 am when they were caught. I know he didnt join them because he was heading home to sleep and he never does stuff like that ever.

There has to have been someone who had seen his friends driving wrecklessly if they got reported. You have to figure out who called in about them.

does the city have cameras that take pictures of cars at intersections? you could use that as proof of timing and that he couldn’t have done it. you can also check if his friends have been acting the same way lately.

his friends are scared to death of getting caught and dont leave the house anymore much. They wont look me in the face either when i see them. Unfortuanely mostly around here its the valley with small towns and no cameras. it was on a side street by a bar that was closing at 2 am .

You could try writing to your local paper to ask them to write a story about why you believe he was innocent. If he does have to serve his time then he could get a load of t-shirts printed up with ‘I am an innocent man who was wrongly jailed’, then maybe someone would stop and ask and help him find a lawyer who will work for free, even if it doesn’t get him out of jail it may still get the others prosecuted.
