I’m happy, I’m really happy!

For the last year I’ve had a lot of struggles with my daughter, it’s been like this tug of war to keep her from being one of those troubled kids. Maybe that doesn’t make a lot of sense, but she was doing things like blowing off school, skipping class and starting to do somethings that she shouldn’t be doing at 12.

Not to long ago she wrote me a letter and said she was sorry, but I kind of felt like it wasn’t really over, because she hadn’t really come clean about what was going on with her.

That happened last night, I don’t know what finally got through to her, but I’m not going to kick a gift horse in the mouth. Lately we’ve just been decorating her room and doing summer stuff. Spending a lot of time together and maybe that’s it, don’t know, don’t care. I’m not going to analyze the good things.

I feel like for the first time in a long time that I really have my daughter back and I’m thrilled and happy. I told her last night when she curled up beside me and finally started talking and crying and begging me to forgive her, that of course I forgive her because I love her with all my heart soul and mind. Oh I know that there are going to be other bad times, heck she’ll be 13 this year, the teen years could be horrible, but at least this thing is over finally and I know that it’s over. I know my daughter very well and I know when she’s being honest and when she’s blowing smoke up my butt.

Well, it was a good and long conversation last night and I’m happy. I just wanted to share that because I have made a few post about what’s been happening and I just wanted to update those that have helped me with their support.

Not if I can helped, that’s why it was so hard, I was watching her self destruct and it was breaking my heart into tiny bits and pieces. I remember one day, I just layed it down to her. I said you might hate me for it, but I will not stand by and let you destroy yourself.

Fizz,
I know the break through you are speaking of and it is an incredible moment. I have boys and have done it a few times. Each sweeter than the next. Age will bring more challenges but Moms will always be the stronger and win out anything trying to over throw us. We laugh in the face of our foes.

Fizz, that sounds wonderful and I am so happy for you. A mother’s relationship and bond with her child is one of the most important things in this world. As long as you stand your ground and do whatever you think is best for your child, there is always a positive outcome.

Thanks Mou, yeah, I know and expect the normal teen issues, but this thing we just went through was more then that and it was REALLY scary. Glad we got through it.
