Melody why would a rich man without any baggage deserve to bring someone into his life with all of the problems that you mentioned? Where is the logic and fairness in this? What are you going to offer him to improve his life? Money is not answer to your problem. You need to get a new estimate of yourself and have faith in your own ability to take care of yourself. You can start by thinking that you are worthy of a good paying job and of being happy.

I’m sorry to be harsh, but this post has just annoyed me. You want a rich man with no baggage, or do you just want someone to be your sugar daddy who keeps to himself? Because I’ll tell you right now, there is NO such thing as a person without baggage, man or woman, rich, or poor. You’re going to be a very lonely person if you continue to think like this.

When was it ever about ‘love’? Even dating in the pursuit of ‘love’ is still the pursuit of personal gain (you want to feel good, can’t get much more personal than that). Actually, any time you’re not inflicting terrible trauma on yourself, you’re being incredibly, unbelievable selfish.

A guy can get away with being unattractive, if he’s reasonably* nice and reasonably wealthy. A guy can get away with being a jerk if he’s reasonably wealthy and reasonably good looking. But a guy can get away with being an unattractive jerk if he’s rich.

Sorry Alex, but that’s a pretty biased universe you’re describing there based on stereotypes. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder so what may be good looking for one woman, may not be so for another.

There are poor, rich, and middle class men that are jerks and not great looking.

There are poor, rich, and middle class men that are personable and not great looking. These men are amazing human beings worthy of a great woman to compliment them.

While I was being slightly sarcastic, I tried to accommodate divergence in taste by leaving ‘reasonable’ defined only as far as standard deviations are concerned.

No one dates a person they find deficient in one area without some compensation in other areas. Money just happens to compensate for a hell of a lot.

Money does not ring the cash register for everyone. There are people who fall in love with the human being, not their bank account. I believe that money is a helluva of a down payment to individual happiness, however it is disastrous when love depends on it.

As a living example of my position, that is to say, as an unattractive jerk (or at least not ‘nice’ as defined by the glurgey nonsense the girls of my generation appear to believe in) who’s rapidly getting poorer, I’m well aware of the power of cash.

The Good looking attribute in a man is so random. We need to choose for ourselves who we want to be and not allow the crowd the define us. Beauty and wealth begin as a state of mind. Change your mind about your looks and your wallet and wonders will happen in your life. You may even decide to display your niceness:) Men are “nice” and “jerks” just like women are “*******” and “sweethearts” at the same time. We only differ by the choices that we make. You decide who you want to be.

It was Miss Universe who said, “I never thought I was beautiful until I started to convince myself that I was, but once I did everyone believed it too.” I agree with her, she is not the most attractive, but she radiates a sense of beauty that is undeniable.

I would love to meet a nice guy, rich or not. Just someone interesting and fun. But fear of getting AIDS takes over each time and that is why i have been celebate and hiding from those “good” men for over 9 years! The sad thing is - I am only 36 years young and most men my age are gay, married, cheating, experimenting, drug addicts, no fun.
Surely there must be one guy out there with morals and values and a bank account of his own who is not looking for a model or sugar-mommy with a bank balance to take care of him. (i am no model - just plain and “normal”)
