I am adopting a rescue dog…

He is kind of like puppy like and I am getting him very soon. Does anyone know of a website or anything that has puppy or dog items that I could possibly get for a little cheaper in the store. I use craigslist, but didnt know if there was a site specially made for pets. I don’t mind if it has been used… I would be fine with the fact that I can recycle by using items that others are about to throw away. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!! :)

Good for you chicchick. Don’t know of a site, but it’s great that you’re adopting it. By “rescue dog” I take it to mean that it was a stray, or at the shelter, and not that it has been trained for “search and rescue”. Right?

No, its not trained. I can’t see dogs stay in a cage all their life at a shelter… makes me sad. :(

You have a good heart. Make sure the puppy is on a pill to prevent heartworms and fleas as soon as it’s old enough, and that it has all of its shots. What kind is it? What are you going to name it?

Also, do you know where I could get the shots and everything for heartworms and everything I need? This is my first dog on my own… lol. Would I just go to a vet, or is there a shelter or somewhere to go to?

A vet can give the puppy the shots it needs. If you got it at a shelter, they usually give it the first set of shots, so check with the shelter to make sure of when the next set of shots is due. Vets also sell heartworm/flea medicine, but you can buy it online cheaper.
