What do you call a nanny when the parents are gone 24/7 ?
I will be a nanny for single dad who is going overseas. This is going to be for the entire upcoming school year.
Are there any other titles for this position? Even “full time nanny” does not really describe it.

i would say like a substitute parent or something like that?
Hope you are being paid well for this.
$3000 a month and $2000 in expenses. She goes to school during the day for a few hours. I will also be taking a class at the local college which he is paying for.
I think I am being paid very well =]
But now about the title? any common titles. Like “foster parent” but see I am not a foster parent so I will not use it but that is an example of common title for a person in that situation.
are you looking for this title to describe what you do to others?
because foster parent isnt right but i mean you would almost be an older sibling to her
nope… when I google full time nanny, I see alot of “Live-in Nanny”
Guess the shortest I can get it without having someone go “you’re what?” is
“I am her temporary guardian while her father is overseas”
I will soon be breathing that statement.
there’s always “Au Pair” too… but I’m not sure if that applies.
I think I am the one who answered my own question.
Thank you all for the effort
Lucky that she is going to have the house all to herself and can party like it’s 2999!
Live-in full time nanny
