Is there any way to validate a PHD that someone holds?

I’m trying to find out wether someone actualy holds a PHD that they claim to - it’s in the feild of psychology yet I cannnot find them on either the BPS or APA listings and have some doubts as to wether they have ever published a journal article. Some help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried contacting the school?
If it’s local you can always go to their library and look up gradutes, and ceremonies. Keep an open mind, but remember people lie sometimes or fudge the truth as my cousin calls it.

It’s not local, no. The guy goes round to schools and (as far as I can see) spouts out some increadably dubious psychopop babble that is based on some rather outdated theories with no sound backing - and gets paid eight grand a time for the privalage. He has websites and such and carefuly doesn’t reveal where go got his doctorate - and he does not seem to be accredeted. I’d quite like to help put him in his place - but I want to be absoultely certain that I’m right before I put anyting into motion. The guy is a fraud from what I’ve heard and I realy, realy hate people who abuse the sciences and lie for profit.

Nowdays anybody can get a diploma on line! Whether is valid or invalid is another story! People usually catch on when they see that the people don’t know crap about the subject the got their diploma on. You seem to be catching on. Report him to the local Education board or the state.
