Doing your own research and work tends to help.

I know of very great thing you can do. Very valuable.
Look into the chemical recycling of Styrofoam.
There is a vast quantities of Styrofoam packaging which is now being dumped
into landfills. This is very wasteful.
There should be an easy way to recycle Styrofoam.
the procedure you could use would be to find a low-cost suitable solvent
to dissolve the Styrofoam in.
The a whole mixture can be vacuum distilled to remove and save the solvent
and in the same time recover the polystyrene in the still bottoms.
Look into how much per ton this “still bottom” would be worth. Given
the relatively high prices for crude oil these days.
phone up a recycling center near you and ask them how many tons
of Styrofoam they would receive per year.
Then if for example they say they receive one ton per year and they service
a community of about 1000 people then show calculations of how many
tons this would be for the whole of the United States.and show a calculation
of how valuable in dollars that would be.

the laboratory work involved on your part would be to collect some representative samples of Styrofoam packaging. Accurately weigh a sample.
Determine the minimum amount of solvent to adequately dissolve the Styrofoam sample.
Vacuum distillation of the crude mass. Using extreme care not to
have an accident due to the extreme flammability of the substances.
Air dry some final still bottoms. Try heating is still bottom after its dry
and casting polystyrene blocks. Show calculations of how much polystyrene
you receive from the typical sample of your Styrofoam packaging.

try different solvents. Example.
Acetone. Methyl-Ethel keytone.
hexane. Paint thinner.

Not sure what level of chemistry project you are looking for, but you can make a red/ox reaction with silver rust, aluminum, and baking soda.
All you need is an object with silver oxide (an old flute or old silver tray), aluminum foil, and baking soda. Simply place the rusted silver object and some aluminum foil in a boiling pot of water, mix in some baking soda, and the reduction/oxidation reaction will occur. The silver oxide will “transform” back into silver and will look brand new again.
The oxides from the silver oxide will move to the aluminum to form aluminum oxide, leaving behind pure silver. The baking soda serves as a salt bridge.
It’s a popular experiment, so you should look up the details online. And I know it works, I’ve done it before myself.
