I have the same thing now and can’t get rid of them to save my life! The only way is to just keep on clicking them off your screen. They go away eventually, but it takes a while. The other way is to actually buy one from a store and subscribe to their crap and that makes the others go away. Someone told me that AVG 7.5 also works. I tried it to no avail. Now I have more pop ups! Sorry!

step by step

go onto “run”
type “msconfig”

then click “startup”

Then UNCHECK/UNTICK every box on there and “apply”.

Then reboot your pc.

Uninstall any anti virus you currently have on your pc as that will be bugged by now.

Reinstall “FREEAVG”

just search on google that and download it. Its V8 and completely free.

Then run the computer scanner and let it catch yer bugs :D

I know for a fact this works. I’ve got a degree in this kinda thing. Its a popular virus at the minute at the minute. All the calls i’m getting are to remove this virus right now.

Good luck. If that doesn’t work-you may have to go into safe mode and mess about with it but let me know if it doesn’t work andi’ll help you out.

Also, try running Spybot Search & Destroy and/or Ad-Aware, they’re similar programs but sometimes one catches things the other one misses, so it’s good to run them both once a week or so.

They’re free. btw. They remove spyware, malware, adware, fix the nastiness that running Internet Explorer exposes you to with its ActiveX and BHO (browser helper object) nonsense, and so on. You can also opt to have them remove traces of what you’ve been doing on your computer (cookies, history, etc), fix registry errors and useless registry entries, and so on.

I’m not sure why Antispyware 2008 is nagging you, though, because it’s a legitimate program. Maybe you got a copy with some nasty bug in it? Are you sure it’s not your antivirus program that keeps popping up warnings?

If your PC seems like its slowing down or having a hard time surfing the web or just doesn’t seem right.
You should go to http://download.com and get these programs.
AD-Aware: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.htm…
Spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search…
CCleaner: http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000…
and and if you dont have an Antivirus program you can use
Avast: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Ed…
or AVG: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Viru…
and for your firewall a good program is
Zone Alarm: http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Fir…
Install these programs and run them regulary. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)
