How to quit your job?

The reason I’m quitting is due to the environment. I just worked with one person and that person is my manager. We rarely talked and it’s becoming very uncomfortable to be around her. Shes mostly like gonna ask me why. And I don’t say this job isn’t right for me becuz i’m still very interested in this field and want to use her as reference. What should I say?

It sounds like you haven’t officialy resigned yet. This gives you a chance to be honest with her. Is it uncomfortable simply because you don’t talk, or that when you do talk you find the differences overwhelming?… In either case, it’s worth telling her the truth. She should be mature enough to see that you’re uncomfortable and that you have every right to express these concerns. Not to mention that it’s possible the environment is always fixable. It’s possible she picked up on this same awkwardness and wasn’t sure how to breach it either. If not, then for her to be upset would be very uncalled for. On the otherhand she is human as well, so it might be best to accept that you might not get that reference…. Or at least make sure that the reference comes from somewhere above the manager possibly?

Start talking. If you are interested in the field dont walk away from a job that could help you. experience is important and you could gain valuable contacts through this person.

I find it very hard to cope with environment. There’s nobody that works in office except us two. It gets very lonely. I have been there for 3 months already. The reason I stayed so long was for the experience and now it’s getting to the point that I can’t handle it anymore. Nevertheless thanks for the advice!

Put a bag of glitter in your pocket. The smaller the pieces, the better. Go to work. Hang out doing nothing as long as possible without getting caught. (Remember, you’ll still get paid for this time when you leave.) When your boss comes up to you to give you hell for it, yell “I QUIT! RELEASE THE GLITTER!” and cover them from head to toe, then grind a good handful into their hair and leave. Then, when you go back, two weeks later to get your last paycheck, notice that the glitter will still be EVERYWHERE, especially on your boss. That stuff never comes off!

Well I just said. “I have a lot of things going on, and need to settle things with family and what I’m going to due with my life, I’m at a cross roads so, I’m going to take me leave…” So I left under “personal leave” Even thought I was just tired and sick of working there.
