Medical diagnosis help?

Considering i’ve been going to doctors for over 3 years for this, i don’t really think anyone here will be able to help me, but i figured what could i lose?

I’m a white male, 21, and have no family history of any major diseases.

The long list of symptoms:

-Nausea constantly, but no throwing up
-Constant Headaches in my temples, but they also go to the back of my head and my forehead.(i also have bad TMJ)
-The lymph nodes in my neck are constantly swollen and hurt
-I can never go to sleep, yet the easiest tasks completely exhaust me and i never have any energy
-Mildly low blood pressure, 90/55
-Night sweats; many nights i wake up at around 2:00/3:00 AM being very hot and sweating, yet i’ve never had a fever
-Very often, skin in random places on my body gets itchy
-Weight loss, many times i’ve lost 10 pounds in a week

I also have had spondyloarthropathy, which is a form of ankylosing spondylitis, WHICH is a form of Rheumatoid Arthritis, for about 10 years.
i take a biologic TNF-a blocker for this, which is called Enbrel, and has no side effects other than bringing decreased ability to fight infections

i’d really appreciate any help=)

I’m sorry I don’t know, but I wish you all the best. I will be praying that they find out what is wrong, and can figure out how to fix it.

Have you taken any medication? Not for this but maybe something else. If so, what is the medication called?

the only regular medication i take now is my arthritis medication, but in the past ive taken countless various steroids and other drugs on the small chance they would help, though i don’t think any of them caused this recurring problem

Okay I will get back with you tonight, in the mean time. Try and relax. Don’t think about your problems. Instead think about a place you would love to go, and picture yourself there. Or try meditation to relax. I am trying to figure the situation. So hold tight.

Also have you talked to doctors about this?

have you thought about the possibility of being allergic to the meds that you are on??

being tired and stuff.. you could be anemic..

as for the itchy skin and nausea… i would think that you could be allergic to the meds that you are on.

Have you done a complete panel of alergy tests? Sounds like allergies and sinus problems. i have know people with the same symptoms and once they do the allergy tests they were allergic to some food or detergent or pollen etc. Once you find out what you are allergic too then you can learn how to live your allergy.

=/ i’ve done at least 4 skin and blood allergy tests, and i am allergic to nothing at all

as for the sinus thing, i do have a small polyp in one of my sinuses, but the doctors say that its completely negligible

i guess thats the only thing they really haven’t done, but they’ve done countless CBC’s (complete blood counts) and all my levels of everything seem to be fine..

lil bit shie wrote:

and yes thats the one thing that always disproves the doctors when they think that im just “exaggerating” what im feeling, yet nothing comes up

well… my suggestion is to find another dr… keep looking until you find one that is going to find the right answers.. this is your life… do not settle for anything until you get the answers that you are searching for…

tell them you want more tests done… do a scan of your internal organs.. see if you have something going on with them.. bloodtests dont show everything…

i have had issues for a long time and found that i now have an inoperable tumor.. and its because i was persistent.. and made them send me to different doctors until i found out what was going on..

Have they tested your liver and kidneys? The stress also from not knowing and still having the symptoms can cause a grest deal of stress. Stress will cause some of the symptoms.

haha not too many people would name their tumors, i hope you picked a great name for him/her.

an EXTREMELY long time ago, my mom had surgery for a disk in her neck, which went greatly, so i can only hope that happens for you also.

hah i was just starting to give up, to just accept this is how i would feel my whole life, but you definitely motivated me to keep searching

thanks a lot

i tend to laugh at my drama in life… lol.. i personally liked romut… which is tumor spelled backwards.. lmfao..
that is great news… im glad that it went well..gives me some hope..

as for motivation.. you need to not settle as i said.. not every doctor knows everything… thats why they call it practice…
so keep going.. keep searching.. refuse to give up…

goodluck.

also… my oldest daughter had a large gland on the back of her neck.. i had them do surgery to remove it and test it… because it was always sore and it was large. not sure why you need them.. because they can remove them… lmfao. but seriously.. maybe that can give them a bit of a hint to what is going on as well..

I was going to say it might be a “wheat allergy” or celiac disease…

http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddisea…

… although looks like you have been tested for allergies. It definitely sounds like your body is fighting some sort of infection since you mention a fever and swollen glands. Some of the other symptoms sound like you may want to have a hormone specialist look into it, but of course I would not know for sure.

lil bit shie is right on - don’t settle for one doctor’s opinion… get a second or even a third opinion. I was reading a book called “How Doctors Think” which talks about how we communicate with our doctors in order to get proper treatment and diagnosis. Some doctors really may not as insightful as others even given the clues…

this isn’t just one doctor, i’ve been to every type of doctor.

ENT’s, my normal doctor, Gastroenterologists, everything.

and yes they are all licensed doctors and are very good.

my appetite fluctuates; some days its normal and others i can’t eat several meals in a row

yeah lil bit shie, haha i’ll keep searching

I’m sure that you already have done this, but has your thyroid been checked? A lot of your symptoms are controlled by that, and the glands are right there by your thyroid. Just an idea, hope it helps…

Okay I have checked all the books I could find on medical conditions and what it could be. I only found some things that relate to your symptoms, but not all of them are together. The thing that I came closing to finding is that you could have stage 3B Hodgkin’s disease. This is a cancer of the lymphatic system.

The symptoms it has that are related to yours is Nausea, Insomnia(trouble sleeping),tiredness, and weight and body fat.

I am sorry this is the only thing that I found that most related to some of your symptoms.

Ariel

Im sorry I could’nt help more. If I find anything a long the way I will let you know. Good luck, and don’t stop searching.

haha yeah heather, i actually just thought about getting my thyroid checked.

although i know i’ve done it in the past, it can’t hurt to go again!

Ariel, i’ll definitely keep Hodgkin’s in my mind and mention that to the doctors, and regardless of whether or not that’s what i have, i cant say how much i appreciate you going out of your way to help me.

Alright, i’ve definitely gained a lot of hope from doing this, and i cant thank you guys enough for spending your time to help me.

thanks to all of you again. =)
