Does my boyfriend really love me?

we have been going out for 2 weeks and the first week we went out he said he loved me.
then he said that he was deeply in love with me a couple days later.
and I say it back, cause i really love him.
More lust than love.
Before we went out, he said he doesnt like long relationships.
now he says he wants to be with me forever.
but one problem, were 16!
does he really mean all of this?
he sounds sincere but maybe hes just smooth talking to get what he wants.

People change, especially when they’re in a relationship that they sincerely want. You might have changed the way he felt about the whole situation. Bring it up to him, it couldn’t hurt.

Oy! This could be a lot of things… It would be hypocritical of me to tell you to take it slow so I’ll just say this.

When you fall from a chair a foot off the ground you hurt your butt, when you jump off a building you break some bones. You know what I mean?

The best thing to do at such a young age is not make any promises. There’s nothing wrong with loving someone deeply but make sure you don’t promise them the world and not be able to give them to you. If things go sour, you’ll both be less hurt if these kinds of promises were never made. ex. “I want to be with you forever.”

don’t take ur relship w/ him seriously. at 16, you have a looong way to go. and have other things to do as well. just enjoy it w/ him but know ur limitations.

I sort of know exactly what you mean. My girlfriend and I of six years recently broke up because she decided to become involved with some guy over the internet who she has yet to meet. I’m 21 and she’s 18 and we had always promised each other that we’d be together forever and love each other until we would die, even after that. It just so happend she decided to take this other path and believe that she doesn’t love me anymore, to believe that she loves this other guy and thinks that he is the one. It hurts, especially after all the promises that she’s ever made to me.

I’m sorry to hear that and I’m sure you heard this all before but it’s always for the best. You don’t want to love someone who doesn’t love you.

Give it a third week. Maybe a fourth. It may be too early to tell anything and it may be too early to make promises with the intent to keep them.
Wait it out and see how things go. If you must know right now, ask him if he still feels the same

Yeah I know what you mean. I guess deep down inside me I don’t want to believe that she could have changed so rapidly, basically it took her one month. Especially after the fact that at one point she had me believing that she fell back in love with me.

Sorry for hijacking your post there for a minute, but I’m sure all of this might give you some advice in what to do. You two need to think of what’s best. After high school you two might go to different colleges or head in different directions. Like emily said, it is pretty early in the relationship to be talking about being together forever, just ride it out, share your feelings and see how things go.

Ohhh sweety he may mean it. But love is not just a feeling. You may like him a lot and yes even love him, but take it slow you are only 16! Time will tell you if he’s being for real. Good luck.

you don’t wanna hear this but its way too soon to be talking about love, and you’re too young to be thinking about forever. even if it is love, take it slow, make sure, and don’t jump into anything. thats the best advice i can give you, don’t jump.

Im in no position to say that he doesn’t love you but i can’t confirm that he does. Let’s put it this way, unless he has done something wrong or soething to make you think that he wants something else from you i say just enjoy it for now. Cause the min. you start second guessing him and his feelings without just cause that’s when the real trouble starts and you might end up losing out on something quite good
