Don’t worry, kid. Everyone on the planet is nervous when looking for a first, second, or any job. You have to have courage, faith in God, and compassion for everyone, including whoever you’re trying to get a job from. We’re all in this together. By the way, if you can read and write and do basic math, and you are basically a friendly polite person, you CAN get a job. Start looking at other people who have jobs, see how they act, and learn from them. We all had to do it, and it was scary, and yet —- we got hired. Good luck.

I was the same way. I am a very shy person, especially when it comes to jobs. But, there comes a point in your life when you have to just brace yourself, and jump in headfirst.

Just start by filling out applications and sending resumes out. You gotta start from the basics.

Easy. Look in the classified or apply on line. No big deal.

What kind of job? if its local jobs like working in small restaurant or fast-food place, I would suggest go ask the manager or owner head on. If they like you, that is good, if not go ask the next place.

Network is useful thing when it comes to job hunting. Ask a parent, friend or a relative whether someone they know is hiring.

i’m 20, and i’ve gone trought 3 jobs last 3 years :P , as i said before i’m VERY shy, but it’s far easier than making friends (at least to me…), i’ll try to tell tips that everyone everywhere could use…

Search, search and search, you just got what you search for…

Be honest, but positive:
dont say: “no, i don’t know a **** about it”
do say : “no, but i’m think i can learn it”

stay calm, relax!
Just be yourself and talk normally

The part about parents and friends is very very efective, i was indicated for my actual job by a teacher!

networking as others have said is truely youre best option. Iy is the easyiest as well. Ask every one you know about job oprotunities, they are more likely to give you a shot if they like the person that sent you there so pick the people your asking with care . If there a dead beat it will make it harder for you to get in but if they are a good worker they will be the boon you need tog et in.
