Cheese and chocolate can trigger migraine as well as lots of other things. Make a list of things you eat when you get them and see if you can see a pattern.

I have had several migraine sufferers in my family. My mom has tried natural remedies like Fever Few, but nothing has worked outside of doctor prescribed medication. Here is a link to a publication that I know of through family and friends that may have some suggestions or resources you can look into …

Also watch out for certain types of wine and saki if you 21 or older. Some alcohols have even set off migraines in me and I don’t typically have headaches to that extreme.

I get them all the time. Chinses hot and sour soup helps me. I read in in the newpaper years ago.. I also hear that bannans help to .. good luck. If you have an acputucrist around your area they can treat them it may take a few treatments but it is so worth it…. good luck

I’ve suffered from these since i was 16 years old. i am now 29. I’ve tried to avoid certain foods. There is a diet now that can help lessen the severity of these episodes. The diet is a Low Tyramine diet, that has been researched to decrease the amounts of amino acids in the body. I’ve tried to stick to it as much as possible with very minimal episodes of Migraine. The best things that work for me is 1) sleeping on a memory foam or temperpedic pillow during pain. 2) only in severe cases, using prescribed medications from the doctor (fiorinal, zomig (nasal sprays) and relpax.)
3) exercise, at least 3 days a week of walking 4)drinking lots of water - i know this sounds silly but it helps 5) regular visits to the chiropractor for neck tension release seems to help as well.

Try to stay away from any foods that are processed–cheese, cured meats like ham/pepperoni, fast foods, and excessive sugar intake.

Hope this helps :)

I’ve suffered from migraines for 29 years after a spinal block during an emergency c-section went bad & I had a spinal headache & they did a spinal tap. I probably would have gotten them eventually since my father had migraines & they can be hereditary. I have never gotten good relief from any of the 12 different prescription drugs I’ve used. They would make me feel like a zombie but still not get rid of the pain. Dizziness & nausea were always a problem too. Through the years I’ve found that you must stay active with some form of exercise, you must stick to a sleep pattern, even on the weekend when you want to sleep in, make yourself get up. Take alfafa pills, its a great green source & it helps eliminate the toxins from your body. Migraine sufferers suffer from stomach issues as well. Also take magnesium 400 mg.(headaches deplete magnesium) & b2(riboflavin)250 mg. at onset & within 20 min take another dose. Drink 16 oz of water immediately & keep flushing. Good luck & God Bless.
