I’m overweight and looking to lose weight.

Under the guidance of My Weight Loss Coach for the Nintendo DS, I’m eating healthier and starting to exercise again. My main problem in the past 6 months is I’ve been extremely sedentary. I work from home, on the computer. I play at home, on the computer. I hardly took 500 steps a day. I ate well, but obviously, I still gained weight.

I’ve come to realize that my 6-month sedentary stint has left me with back pain when I walk for more than a few minutes. I’m assuming my back muscle have just weakened due to sitting around so much, and poor posture.

Does anyone have any suggestions on ways to build up those back muscles, or suggestions on what may really be going on? I’m considering going to a doctor to get checked out, just to be safe.

I would see a doctor about the back pain, you never know exactly what it could be. Also, your doctor may have tips for you on losing some extra pounds.

As for my personal advice on losing weight, there’s no race and no diet will make you slim overnight. Just start off slow, I can’t stress that enough. An easy to strain a muscle and hurt yourself is by doing too much too soon.
Every little bit helps!

Also, I know a lot of people that swear by the workout series, The Firm. You don’t have to buy the whole series, just a couple dvd’s does the trick.

first i agree. go see a doctor. and for the back and excercise when u are at home instead of sitting around put on music and dance. it sounds wierd but it really helps. u can also do sit-ups or crunches while waiting for sometihing. if u have the time go jog. anywhere even inside ur house.
