That list is from ONE post… I am not going to bother digging through others to continue to show why he was banned. I did not ban him. I would have handled it differently. But before this post was written I did warn him after un-muting him that the next time he decided to spout off it would probably result in a permanent ban. He promised me he would behave. After that promise, what do you think of these replies?

Normally I would issue a warning. Bacon has had 33 warnings I could find. And 6 (I think) previous bans. Plus a permanent mute that I agreed to undo based on a promise that he would change his “temper”.

I did not ban him. But I am also not going to UNban him.

Thats not really fair sully. I’ve acted worst than that on posts before. Ive also been given second chances. I mean, everyone has their bad days.

(Wow, I’ve just met 3 mods in one day after knowing only one mod for about a year!)

I unbanned him twice and unmutted him once and I have never had problems with him my self. But I do take promises seriously.

Again, everyone has their bad days.

Ask the one who banned him. It was Ken.

I must say that few people on this site have a “rap sheet” as long as his… Yes people may have said worse. But they have done it far less often. With that I am unsubscribing from this post.

I’m sure you all have your reasons for wanting this person back, and I believe Ken had good reasons for the ban. But let’s not make a huge deal out of this please. In time he MAY be allowed back, who knows?
I’m sensing a feeling from some that the mods are ‘against’ regular users for some reason? Or maybe the other way around? I assure you that isn’t the case. We all started out the same way on this site. Ken is a good person and an awesome mod. I’ve known him for a year and five months and never known of him to be offensive or out of line with anyone.

It’s a complicated situation to say the least! But he could get rid of me if he saw fit to. It’s quite counter productive to open a new account, make your profile, get your friends back, post as yourself, only to get banned again. Starting over has it’s disadvantages, but starting over and over again is just pointless!

Err… well, we cannot deactivate an account, only ban. You would have had to request the band to be lifted.

Nope, deactivation only occurs when a user doesn’t verify their e-mail address. There is no mod tool (or admin tool) that allows for deactivation from the website. However, someone with MySQL could deactivate it but the only person that does is the current developer. Other than that, we can only ban and wipe a user.

Ah Jay. You are correct, the admins do have a disable account feature, mods do not. It looks like there were only a few special cases where an account has been deactivated (in total it has been used 50 times).
