Does anyone know?

Can bad posture affect how well you can breathe? I’ve been having trouble breathing, well I’ve been having really bad panic attacks. I’ve had panic attacks for a while and usually I can get through them just fine but lately they have been really bad and constant. I can’t sleep, I really can’t do anything because I am always in a state of panic. I really can’t breathe in all the way. It’s really bad and I’m starting wonder if maybe something is wrong with my muscles that is making it difficult for me to breathe? If anyone has any insight I would really appreciate it. Thanks

ok, I’ll try that. I’ve tried other things to distract myself which used to work but it’s been so bad recently.

Try adjusting your posture in a positive way. Everytime you start to slouch, straighten out immediately.
When you walk do this, too. But if you tend to sit for long periods of time on a daily basis (at work, in front of a computer, etc) make sure to follow this. Post a sticky in front of you if necessary to remind you.

This may be the source of your breathing and maybe it will have an impact

You’re welcome. I hope you can get back to a state of calmness…maybe trying breathing exercises (if you have not already) while you are peaceful or when relieving yourself from a panic attack.
Panic attacks can really make a person feel claustrophobic in their own body!

It probably is the stress/panic attacks thing and all you’re going through right now, but if it continues you might want to talk to a doctor, and maybe they can give you something to help….

See what the breathing exercises do for you first…. sometimes it seems to help calm us down if we just focus for a minute and remember to take deep breaths…

Poor posture influences poor breathing ALOT…!! there are different energy systems going on all the time within your body. The meridian system, the nervous systems that arouse fight or flight and the ones that calm you down and the higher systems of esoteric value. The chakra systems. All need the spine to be free of blocks kinks obstructions and mis-alignments if you are to be free of pain.If your energies are too much, as your racing heart indicates then it needs bringing down. check the part on your spine just below the left shoulder blade where the heart energies lie. If there is a knot there then thats your problem. Get it massaged away and straighten up in that area as well as hold your shoulders correctly, which is NOT to pull them back. Let them hang. This will help
