i think i’m about to be fleeced by estate agent.

I have paid the deposit and first month rent plus referencing fee. now they asking for another £100 for further reference! what should I do???

You have already agreed on terms and there asking for more money i take it. Something similar happened to me when i was a student. I got my money back and looked for somewhere else. They really should have told you prior if there was any further expense. To be honest i have never been asked to pay money for references. Personally i wouldnt give them any more money but in situations like this its always best to contact someone who can explain your rights to you.

Don’t know the laws in the UK but it sounds like they want to make an additional 100 pounds off you. I’d tell them I wanted my money back if they try that. In ANY civilized country, a deal’s a deal!
