You wouldnt guess what I founf today. I went down stairs to go to the library and thought to check the mail. I looked, and there in my mail box…. was a black PSP….. Im not one to have technology get rained on, so I brought it in the house, where it would be safe… now… I dont know what to do. It doesnt look new, just used. My downstairs neighbor doesnt own one, shes not into games, so I was thinking her boyfriend who has all his friends come over all the time, it might be theirs. But… I dont know what to do. If I ask, and its not theirs, they will say it is anyway, so its not safe to ask. Should I wait? My step dad to be says that I should wait till monday then if Precious (My neighbor) doesnt ask about it, it would be mine, but it doesnt feel right. Not that I dont want it, I do! But…. I dont think its right. But it was left…. What should I do?
I thought so too. Cause talking about it might get it put in someone elses hands.

Its… shiney. But its not mine. I would love to keep it, but I didnt buy it, and I would feel bad… siiigh.
well the right thing to do would be to take to the police and have them hold it because there is a legal waiting time until a found item is yours (if you give it to the police) then they have to wait and give it to anyone who says that is mine and they must have proof if no one can fulfill enough proof then it is given to back to you.
I dont know… The police here, they are not known to be nice about things like this. That and, I believe my neighbors boyfriends friends might be in bad with the law, they come around alot… so I dont think that would work… Thanks Demon.
Someone else is missing it, I hate to say this but I think your step-father is wrong. I would ask your neighbor if they are missing anything in particular, don’t mention what it is but if it is their’s they will know what you are talking about if not demon smith is right giving it to the cops would be the right thing to do. I hope that this helped.
Hi Cody, I know its wrong to keep it. If I ask about it though… well. She might want to keep it and say that she would give it to them, but Im not sure.. I dont know her well.
My mom doesnt trust her much… and its hard to get on my mommas bad side.

Just try to get it into some common conversation when her bf isn’t there.
Like: Gosh, I heard about this game the other night, really want to play it…
And probably the conversation goes right to gaming and probably if it is theirs, they’ll mention it.
If you are afraid she won’t give it too him, well, than bring it over when her bf is there.

Just ask them in a vague manner. Don’t let them know what it is. If they know what you are talking about then it belongs to them.

ask your neighbor if she has heard one of the guys ranting about loosing something. If she asks why just say you thought you heard someone going on about how they lost something last night. if they did loose something ask what it is.
If she says no then maybe you have a secret admirer ;)

I would HATE if someone took my psp(if I had one). Im not one for having technology ruined. well, try to figure it out if it’s the neighbours bf first.
second, if someone put it there and comes looking for it, they’ll probably knock on the door since it was in your mailbox.
if not, well than bring it to the police as it probably was stolen or decide to keep it (though that would not be my advice, as you some kind of steal it yourself though, but than again, it was ‘delivered’ in your mailbox)

I believe, it being so expensive and so many people wanting one, I think I should wait. Miskat, your right. Someone should be by soon to find it and probibly knock on my door. I would. I cant Ikari…. The barcode and serial number on the bottom are almost completely rubbed off.. Looks like age, more than delebrate.
Its not new. Its pretty old looking, I would say… a year and a half? It looks like what my ipod looks like, and thats when I got mine, and I take real good care of it.
Put it away so it won’t stare! :P
If you have to bring it to the police in the end, they might never come and get it, but at least you know you did the right thing…
is it rubbed in between numbers? it could be a code… like 12 4 08 5? idk because then it may be like you have it till December 4 2008, hour 5PM then i come and get it.

It is an object. Most likely it does not have a soul. Keep that in mind.
The PSP probably doesn’t care where it is, as it can’t ‘care’.
And ask yourself what is more important, the feeling that you did the right thing or having a PSP that you know is actually not yours…?
I would wait to see if anyone asks about it. If they ask then it must be theirs. If not then it isn’t. Also, whoever is missing it if it isn’t your neighbor wouls come ask too. Just want alittle while and see what happens. True Gamers can not be without their PSP for a long period of time.
I know.. Its better to do the right thing, and I want to. I know it doesnt have a soul, but it… does have a purpose. And without someone there, its purpose is gone. I do believe I do need to give it up. BUT ITS SO BEAUTIFUL! Sorry, I love technology. lol. I will though, even if it is beautiful. I agree. Im sorry.

technology’s purpose is to please the one who is PLAYING it NOT the who bought it.
so there fore if you go out out buy a game you think you would enjoy (which is rare because PSPs suck compared to REAL gaming stations) and then you play it and you enjoy it the you are fulfilling it’s purpose.
Ask if anyone lost something. Just don’t say what it is at all and don’t hint towards it. I’m sure that if they lost a PSP they would remember that they lost it.
It might’ve been some neighborhood kids playing a game and one of them put it in there so it wouldn’t get broken and forgot about it and left without it.
ive done that… but not with something that valuable…

Thats what I thought too! But the kids around my neighborhood, they are… lets say, not as rich? I live… in the bad side of town, which is why I wonder, why there is a PSP in my mailbox!

Washu, if I was you, I would keep it, if they ask for it give it to them, but your not doing anything wrong, and I REALLY would love a psp, but washu your nice and fun you deserve one :D

Nope. Its very hopeless. My neighbors are home now, and nothing seems wrong. So I know its not theirs… Its 6hrs after I had found it.
i’d ask, if they r expecting anything to arrive or someone to bring a borrowed thing. if she says yes and tell what it is, then u’d better give it to her, it’s hers, if she has no idea, just keep it. it urs :)
Thanks Rui. Its been now…. 9hrs since I found it, and my neighbor still has not come to check if its here. So its not theirs. Im guessing one of their friends left it, or someone didnt want it, I just noticed on it that the back 2 screws are removed, so it looks like someone wanted to get into it, so there must be something wrong with it, I still dont know, it looks pretty normal to me. But I havent turned it on yet.
I would give it to them, when they come, I wouldnt hold it back from its owner. But they have to tell me something about it that makes it theirs. Not just “Thats my PSP. Give it back” cause that doesnt show that its theirs.
Like with my ipod, its got a nick in the top left corner near the hold button. Thats all I have to say, or that I have pictures on it. I could even tell you its name. But still, no one has come to claim it yet… its so pretty. Who ever it is, they are lucky to have had it, not so lucky now, they lost it, but hopefully they come to get it.
ask her if shes missing something but dont tell her what you got. if she says yea i was supposed 2 get a PSP then u know its hers but if she dusnt know what ur talking about then keep it…
I do have good and bad news.
Good news. The owner came yesterday and picked up the psp. My mom gave it over, which I am relieved to say, actually went to Precious. A friend of hers lost it, like I had thought. She was thankful that it was here and not out in the rain. So yea. The PSP went home.
Bad News. I dont have it staring at me anymore… WAHHHH!
