How can I live on my own at 17?

Let’s say I were to leave home and get away, how would I be able to make it on my own? I don’t have my last year of school in yet, but I’m going to possibly be having to live life on my own pretty soon. I might not be able to use my driver’s license or any identification, is it possible to live without a driver’s license and social security card? How would I be able to get a job without identifying myself? So many questions right now. :(

You have a social card. Yes. You have a high school ID. Yes? You can get an ID from the DMV. It won’t be a licesnse, but it will be an ID. I would finish high school at least before leaving home. Life is hard enough WITH a high school diploma; it’s even much harder WITHOUT one!

I guess there is a reason for wanting to get away and leave home…but try to reconsider, at 17 why make your life even harder…stick it out, try to enjoy your adolescence for as long as you could, you really do not have to grow up so fast. If you are determent to leave home, be smart about it, plan ahead, like this post ask question, get advice, get things in order like your drivers license, social security card, having a good job…bottom line is take your time, be smart about it , think things through and use your intellect. Good luck….

If you need to leave home due to abuse, contact social services.

Otherwise, stay in school, get a job and save money for your first & last months rent. Move out once you have finished school and have a full time job or get a scholarship and go to college.

Hey there well heres the deal I am almost 19 and i was kicked out at 17 and i made a ton of mistakes over the last 2 years. Its scary and it hard and i ended up in a lot of dark dirty scary places. but what downs too is that you cant focus on your age you can make it
its not easy and it far too easy to get cought up in the wrong crowds i got really heavy into drugs because i was all poor me its soo hard and i couldnt hold a job it sucked but when no one came to rescue me i realized that no will help in the real world i have to suck it up and fix my life and i did i moved to florida and went to rehab at 18 and have been great if you have a chance to stay home do it
no matter how ****** trust i know ****** as a kid i was bumped from abusive household to another my entire life i was beat up until the day i was kicked out
i dont have a ged yet and i am working on it but i have matured soo much in the past 2 years its unbelieveable

if you end up on your own at 17 be careful who you trust dont tell people how much money you have and save your money like there is no tomorrow…you’ll need it. if you cant fix it today dont stress over it carefully plan each move each bill and over analize your finances. shoot high and aim low. you can make it
you can do what ever you set your mind too i went from being homeless on the street after having been robbed of everything because of my stupid moves to a manager at a store i have a house now and i bust my *** for what i have now. thats the greatest feeling ever when you reach that place where you can look around remember where you were and were you are today. you appriciate everything you own because you own it. you earned it. stand strong and push forward get a job and hold on to it with everything you have plan to get back in school asap and save your money good luck!!! i wish you the very best
