How do i let my curly hair grow back?

should i cut it short? shave my head? or what?

just keep letting it grow out. get trims frequently, and as the curly hair grows out straighten it so the whole thing is still straight.
Then eventually after a while of straightening the curly bits with a straightener and trimming off the chemically straightened parts gradually, all those parts should be gone.

I know someone who has just got their hair thinnned that was really thick and curly. She was devistated thinking that it will never be the same again. Will the curls grow back? How long do you think it will take?
