I want to write something.
Anything.I just have an urge to write. Whether it’s a song, a story, a poem, or something else, I don’t care. But I need ideas. Can anyone give me some ideas for what I can write? Please? Thanks - Jez

Rant! Don’t be afraid to spill out your ideas. Rant about life, society, etc…

I’m not thinking along the lines of a rant about any thing. I’m thinking something… I don’t know, deeper? real? I’m no good at describing how I feel. I can’t say much past that…
Write a story about tigers in the jungle.
That’s always fun.

Teach yourself. If you can learn to rant, you can learn to write. Simple as that.
Write about experience. Write about a person. Write about some random who-knows-who that you only know a little bit about and see what you know about them.
An elephant with an addiction to crack, and his wife who is struggling with her suppressed homosexuality. Also monkeys with guns.

Then write poetry. It doesn’t even have to rhyme.
Or a song?
That’s what I want to do, but, but I need some thing to base it on. Ideas. A bit like a template…kinda.

Tigers in the jungle? Interesting idea… In what way do you mean that? Using personfication a bit like in The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark and The Otter Who Wanted To Know?

Nope, just Tigers in a jungle.
A story about anything? Hmmmmm….
Write a nice story with a moral ending or some type of universal truth mixed in.
Nice, Live4anon. Write a moral story about tigers in the jungle. Maybe you could tell us about why life is fair after all. And it is, in a way, if you think about it. If I died right now, it would make it easier for everyone else to live. But by making it easier for all of you to live, it will also speed you on your way towards death. Do something ridiculously profound alongside it. That will be fun to read. C:
Oooh! Actually, you could write a story about Modest Truth and how much she loves her pink frosted soy cupcakes. XD

Dreamer, I read through a couple of your posts and it really seems like you are living in the ‘not here and not now’ kind of way. Meaning you are opposed to actuality and needing a break. Why don’t you write about that? A young girl who is trying to get away from the real world?
I think that a great idea, never seen a story about pink cupcakes. You seem to like the tiger as well. Intergrate them and make up a story.

Living in the ‘ not here not now’ kind of way? I’m not sure what you mean there.

Meaning you are neither here nor there? As in you transcend the temporal aspect of life? Wow. This is like The Sound and The Fury all over again.
Yes! Tigers who can’t stop eating pink cupcakes, and so they all starve.
Except, five of them survive! They journey west, and look to start a completely new life together, but are plagued by countless hardships along the way.

LMAO! An instant classic!
Sometimes when I want to write something, I try to make a story out of my dreams.
I don’t know if you remember your dreams/if you even have dreams, but if neither of those are the case, then why not try it? :)

That’s a really good idea. In the end, the tigers could wake up and know that it was all a dream, right Live4anon?

Oh, that would be a cool ending! O:
I talk to my flowers in the garden, they never answer back. But what if they did one day? Could use that to start of a story. Talking plants.

My dreams are based around other stories. Things I’ve read recently. If they aren’t, they’re really complicated things that have my head buzzing just thinking about them.

Of course!
Through the dream, they learn the lesson that they need to live in moderation.
Does anyone else sense a best seller?

I would definitely buy that book!
It means you don’t like reality. You would much rather live inside of a book than read one, and you would much rather read a book based on real life than actually live it…
I think you’ve got it all sussed out. Now all you need to do it write it.

I hate that bloody ginger cat, that visits my back garden.
It leaves it’s message every time, that I will not parden.
Now some one else can add the next verse.
Oh, actually I think it’s starting to come together now. I just need to read it a few more times.

lmao! That’s right! Yay for perseverance!
I’ll try make it as straightforward as possible…
I tend to go against what I say in what I say a lot…
I’m saying although you love reading, you’d much rather live the story. With all the danger, magic, and what-not instead of being stuck just reading it.
But, because you are stuck in reality, you’d rather just read a book about someone else. Even if it’s their reality… Pretty much, I’m saying your bored with your life, correct?

Okay, half of that went straight to my brain, give me a minute to make the rest of it go there too.

If it does it one more time, I’m bound to go insane.

Woohoo! I’ve got it after the second read. I get that one…I think.
I see you have been reading some of my replies.
Well guys, its about time for me to go. Let me know how those cupcake binging tigers get back to the continent and wake up in time to know it was all actually a tream, will ya? Oh! Thep and Broken, that’s just lovely poetry! C-ya guys!
That’s good. For a such a smart girl you can be quite dull at times, I’m guessing. lol.

My eyes are closing, my head hurts, I need to sleep. My brain isn’t processing things properly tonight.
And I guess thanks. I guess I am dull.
I trust you don’t take it offensively, I meant it as a compliment.

No no, I’m saying you are smart. but sometimes your brain doesn’t work as well as you would like it.
That bloody cat is not so brave, it’s visits are getting rarer.
It doesn’t come as often now, since I got the cat scarer.

I’m tried, and for the first time every I admit it. I was up early yesterday to go Leeds for a wedding, there was alsorts of trouble. Today I had to get up early to get back up home for another wedding. I’m completely knacked!

How about “The Book of Nothing”. Have it as thick as you want, with nothing on every page?

How about you write a story about a man with his toes on backwards. Your first story can be ‘Mr Toes on Backwards Goes to the Shoe Store’ and we discover that he has real problems getting shoes that fit, being that his toes are on backwards and all.
anything? Ok, write about a turtle named joe who sleepwalks. One night, he walks into another sleepwalker, except its a rabbit who thinks hes a frog. OR a penguin named harry who can fly…to AFRICA and meets a ostrich who likes to swim and then….I dunno…you said give you ideas!
Possible stories:
*A teen drug user in love with a cop… how can he win her!?
*A man who works in a mental hospital, the horrors there eventually transforming him into an sociopath, the very thing he had been curing all his life.
*A man who makes a religious promise to kill anyone who dates his ex (who had dumped him a year earlier) as revenge… to his horror, his ex asks him out. He has to battle love with religion.
*An oppressed teen becomes a murderous vigilante, spreading his fascist beliefs.
*A man in a coma subconsciously witnesses a murder, and has three clues: his wife’s hidden letters to a lover, the lover’s rejection letters back, and bloody doctor’s gloves in his wife’s wallet. OMG!
*A zoo claiming to have several “new species,” turning out to be genetically and chemically mutated human beings.
They are all really grotesque, I know, but I thought those were cool.

But, those are some very unique ideas.. Hats off to you my friend.
Okay, I’ve returned. Things make more sense today. I’ve read up to the end and there are some cool ideas here. =P
I often write when i am pissed off about something. try writing about the most imaginative way to kill your worst enemy. my ideas often end up involving lighter fluid.
I found that when I write, writing from your heart and from your personal experiences works great. Don’t try to hard and most of all be honest with yourself when writing. You should be fine. Hope to hear what you write soon.
