How can I sell my Homemade Salsa?

I make the best homemade salsa in Texas. I grow my own tomatoes, garlic, onions, jalapenos, cilantro, etc. Everything is made from scratch. All of my friends and family constantly ask for it. They tell me I should sell it…. But how? Does anyone know about how to go about doing something like this? Marketing, Licensing, FDA?, Preservatives? Any feedback would be great. Thank you
Sincerely,
Patrick Boyce Davis

hmm…
i’m not sure.
but maybe you should start out small.
go to smaller shops or family owned restaurants and see if they will buy it from you or use it somehow.

You can start by going on the FDAs website to research what you may need.. but I don’t see why you can’t start by selling things at a local farmer’s market… give out free samples… see where things go from there. There are recipe programs online that you can download to type in your ingredients/recipes and they tell you calorie content, etc.. i forgot the names of them sorry. If you have the correct labeling I’m sure you can sell it to local shops and start from there.

I think you should open a salsa stand first, or something like that :D. Everyone loves some good salsa. Just to test it and see if other ppl outside of the fam like it.

lol i sure do hope your salsa hits big time. all the main brands kinda suck in my opinion lol. The farmer’s market is a great idea BTW.

you should let me taste it first so i know it’s good enough for other people to eat. lol jk.
but i agree with the farmer’s market thing. you don’t have to label it i think just pass it out and make sure you have a solid consumer base.

I think you are just one of those people that take comments literally. You know like when people have a horrible haircut or they are wearing a horrible piece of clothing and everyone says “ooohh that looks good” and they are dying laughing inside. Yep I think that is what your family is doing before they run outside and spit it out like a rotten piece of lizard fat. Keep your day job!!

Hi Patrick, I hope you have found a way to market your Salsa. I’m trying to find my niche and I also have a great Salsa recipe that I would like to get out there. I often thought of the Farmers Market and craft shows which are very popular in my area. My main concern is budgeting and how to incorporate the cost of everything into the price of the product.
Anyway, I don’t have answers for you but I wish you the best of luck. It would be nice to hear that you have attained your goal.
