Can anyone tell me which internet browser works the best?
I think like most people that use Microsoft Windows, my browser of choice has always been Internet Explorer. I mean it’s right there when you install Windows, and it’s integrated immediately with all other Windows programs without faffing about setting default programs. That said, something that has become apparent of late is that as browsers go, it sucks! It’s slower than a molasses covered turtle (yeehaw!) and it has a distinct lack of features when compared to other browsers that I have come across of late.
So these other browsers have included Apple Safari, and Mozilla Firefox. Safari was an optional extra when I downloaded Quicktime and I thought “what the hell?”, and Firefox is on my wife’s laptop. Both have really nice little features like a spell check, easy to access bookmarks (Safari particularly), and the option to resume your previous session (Firefox). But these programs are still not perfect. Safari is fast and looks good, but it isn’t quite as natural to me as the others. Firefox on the other hand feels natural to me, but it freezes all the time and doesn’t seem to have many advantages over IE anyway.
So going back to my original question, other than these three possibilities are there any other browsers worth checking out? And if not, which of the three would you say is the best?

It’s what I’m using right now as it happens, and it hasn’t frozen…yet! Perhaps it was just the session that was freezing, and opening a new one fixed the problem.
But in your opinion, why is Firefox the better browser?
I use IE now (as you said, just because it is there) but am often annoyed by it, but also by Windows in general.
For sure on my next computers I will no longer have Windows, though that might give issues as programs like Word and Excel are pretty much the standard.
Back to your question on which browser to use, I can’t tell really.
But just as you I am looking for proper advice so I hook up with you.
Let’s get some tea, sit back and hope some give some advice to help us out here. =)

Sounds like a plan!
I have to say though that as far as my own enquiries go, Apple Safari does seem like the superior browser. It’s laid out quite well, it’s faster than the others which I’ve used, and it looks good. But there’s just something about it that doesn’t gel right for me. Give it a go Miskat and see what you reckon. You might like it.
I haven’t used Safari so I can’t say anything about that but I do enjoy using Firefox. It has a few cool features that to my knowledge IE does not have and I do not know whether Safari has. The main being the spell-checker, I use that quite a bit. It’s also cool being able to assign key-words to specific searcher. The resuming last session is also awesome for if your computer crashes or something. The add-ons is supposed to pretty great also but it is not something I have ever been bothered with.

It does seem pretty cool. Maybe I should install it on my laptop and see how it goes. Like I said, I’m using Firefox on my wife’s laptop but she downloads so many toolbars and add-ons that if the thing crashes, there is no guarantee that it is a programming error on Firefox’s part!
Well as general consensus appears to be that Firefox 3 is kick a$$, I have downloaded and installed it on my laptop. In fact I’m using it right now, and I’m pleased to report that it’s working well. Thanks for all the help guys (yes, even you Sophie!).
