There is this virtual game on the net called Second Life.

One of the systems requirements is 512 MB of RAM. Does anyone know if there is a way one could use virtual memory (Disk) to make the game run on a PC with 256 MB of RAM?

RAM is really cheap and easy to install. Why not just hop over to Walmart or Best Buy and buy a stick?

Yes, you could use virtual memory. Simply google for virtual memory and check out what you find.

Lowering the amount of programs running in the background, defragmenting your hard drive, and making your virtual memory static will all help. However, buying and installing more RAM is the cheapest and easiest upgrade, and you will notice the improvement. I recommend at least upgrading to 512 (buying one more stick of 256), or 1 GB (buy 2 sticks of 512). Check out newegg.com.

Anyway, I´ve had a 2.53 GHz Pentium 4 processor, 1 GB of RAM, an Nvidia 7800GS with 1GB of memory -and Second Life played pretty shoddy on my rig, so…
