Year help: i have a problem with my ipod and itunes. - Help.com

i have a problem with my ipod and itunes.

ive had my ipod for about two years now, but today i changed my sync settings to not put music on my ipod so i could fit a movie on it, but when it started syncing the movie it said there was an error and shut down now every time i open itunes with my ipod plugged in it shuts down. problem is, how am i supposed to get my music back on my ipod if i cant change my settings without it freezing?

help would be very much appreciated.
