Even where I live you will not find an apt for that price. Add another three to four hundred to that and you should have no problem finding a place. Hope this helps :-)

well…
i’d say your best bet is a trailer park.
i know that doesn’t sound all too good, but i practically live in one because my best friend lives there and we’re together almost constantly.
there are some pretty nice people in her neighborhood and it’s definitely not crappy.
she has 2 bedrooms and three other siblings.
well, here’s how the trailer is: you walk in and there’s the big huge living room that takes up like half of the house, as well as the kitchen. to the right, past the kitchen, is the master bedroom. it’s really big. there’s also a big jacuzzi-like bath in there.
my friend and her little sister share this room. they have bunk beds and a lot of different shelves and whatnot. really, they’re organized. if they weren’t, their room would be a disaster. but it’s ideal for the girls because, well…they’re girls. girls love preening, so it’s nice to have a bathroom like that.
anyway,
to the right when you walk in, is the hallway with two other smaller bedrooms and another bathroom.
her mom has one of the smaller bedrooms, but it’s not too small. there’s a queen size bed in there, a dresser, bookshelf.
then her brothers have another one, cause they’re boys and they don’t generally care, as long as they have a bed and toys.
it’s your best bet if you want to live somewhere halfway decent.
in my opinion, an apartment would be miserable for you.
if you do choose to do this, remember to KEEP THINGS ORGANIZED.
take a trip to walmart or target and pick out shelves and whatnot.
remember not to buy things that your kids aren’t going to use in the future.
bunkbeds are a bit expensive but they’re worth the money.
if you get bunkbeds for boys, stick boxes under the bed, or better yet, have a male friend of yours or atleast someone handy come and fit boards under the bottom bed.
basically, block off access to the space under there.
if you have little boys, and this goes for girls too, things will indefinitely get lost under there.
clothes, toys, everything.
if there’s a closet, put things on the floor of that too.
keep things out in the open.
but yeah, that should work for younger boys. girls too.
if you have older kids, try telling them that they need to put their things away after they get them out.
if they’re teenagers, just let them do their thing.
it’s not cool to nag teenagers, even if it bugs you that they’re messy sometimes.
here’s a tip if you have all girls: match up younger girls with older girls.
don’t stick two older girls in the same room.
no matter what you do, kids are always going to be a pain in the ***.
living in a smaller house like that will always be a little bit stressfull.
but try to keep it as neat as possible and you’ll do okay.
:D

Start looking at small towns that are within 60 miles of a larger city. There are plenty of schools that are struggling to increase enrollment and if you make contact with the auditor or a person who has knowledge of how things work there, you might get some help. I know you cold rent a house here for that amount.
