This is a good place, the people that complain about not getting help do that because they did not get what they wanted to hear(read). And for the people that say that “actions speak louder than words”, well some people can’t always be in a room full of people that can help them, and this is a good place to come for the people that can’t always find help in real life. Atleast here you can always find someone willing to help.

You are right. As far as getting help, when you make friendships with others you will find you always get the best help. I just recently made a post and the most amazing people came to help me, but what helped is they are people who seem to know me well. Spending time helping others and building friendships is what this place is really all about. Sometimes people will get more help out of being there for others than they ever will out of making a post.
The only thing that really needs to change is that the great mods we have need more support.

I totally agree - the good far outweighs the bad on this site.

I still consider myself new, and I feel terrible for all the people who have created such deep friendships here and have just watched as one by one their friends have left. Like Xeno…I had just got to talk to him and it made me incredibly sad that he just up and left…I feel like people are just giving up. Like those leaving think there still aren’t good people out there trying to help. I’ve met fantastic people and yes I can definitely see some of the things people are complaining about, many of them can be overlooked and for the ones that can’t…it’s our job to change them. Change the way we post…it’s our job just to think more and see how we can better this site.

This site has made me incredibly happy, I’d like to meet everyone who’s made Help what it is…but I can’t do that if everyone keeps leaving.

Xeno will be back. I have known him since my earlier days on help, he will be back.

Sure there are things that can improve, but I still LOVE this place!

I know how you feel Red_Sky. When I came here, one of my friends I meet sounded like she was in trouble, and I haven’t heard from her in over a week.

Thanks Maximina, I think I just needed to hear something along those lines.

So many good people have come and gone since I started on here, but so many amazing people have stayed. I can name numerous users who have been here over a year. People get burned out or busy in their lives. I take breaks often, but I will always come back. I have the most amazing friends on this site, but it took me a long time to develop strong friendships.

I think it’s great as it is! I’ve not had any problems…have never had any problems with mods or anything. And I’ve met some really cool people!

Oh I know it just seemed like I came at a time when no one wanted to be here anymore. But sorting through all the posts that seem to be fake to find the people who really need help…it’s a good feeling. I just never could see what was wrong here, I guess I just assumed that’s how things always were here. There would always be people just joking around/giving people grief, those willing to help, and those anons/new users/old users who really just needed help. I thought everyone else just assumed the same thing. But the more posts I read like this, the more I think…perhaps I’m wrong.

It is sort of like jobs, people come and go, people complain, and some people LOVE their jobs. The longer you have been here, the closer you become to people and the more you appreciate things.

BTW hey…Iknowyou, you were one of the amazing people who helped me with my last post. :)

FINALLY! Nice to see some people who have a bit of intelligence and can actually see the good things about this site. I am fed up of people complaining about the spam and troll posts and then start making post complaining about it, which contradicts there point a bit really.

Like many people here, I think help.com is a great place. Yes, there are the odd few problems, but that is the same everwhere you go. Like hey…iknowyou said, we can’t help everyone. Sometimes if some people need help, then they just need to be a bit paitient. After all, this site is designed to offer professional help. It is run by the users who help by OFFERING advice and support.

Nice to see that there are still some people here that still think highly of this place

it’s so great, i don’t see why people find the need to complain so much about it’s need to improve. it’s already brilliant. some people just need to see what’s already here and to be grateful for it.

I have been using this website for well over a year. It has changed a number of times during this time.
There are so many, that are classed as good people left. At the same time their are equally as many good people that have become new members. As well as some of the older ones returning.

When I first came here, the age group of most members were older than those at the present time. We didn’t have the helpbots, or the maps. Neither were there any e-mail links.

Every so often it seems that arguament and upset nearly tare this place apart, I have noticed that this reminds us all, that we mostly love this website. We then seem to pull together and repair the damage done.

The mods in my oppinion do a fantastic job, I think once in a while there are mistakes or missunderstandings, by the mods. This is very rare though. It is some of us that cause problems for the mods, by not accepting they have rules to guide them. Some of us seem to think that we know better and forget that we agreed to abide by the rules and the FAQ.

Over-all.
I think that change is good for the website, it keeps it alive. Stops it stagnating.
The natural change that occurs here, like the age groups of the majority of its members, the type of posts we get.
The one thing I do critisise is that some users think that one type of post or another should be banned or stopped. It’s things like “Dont you get fed-up of begging posts” or whatever.
All people coming here for help, no matter what the help being sort for is. Should and do have the equal rights of any other type of help group.

This website is a good website, that has helped many thousands of people all over the world.
That for me is :- GOOD ENOUGH and as :- GOOD AS IT GETS.

This is an awesome site, i was searching something on google and a post on Help.com came up……then i looked around, and signed up. that’s the way i discover most good sites. :)
and this is definitely one of them. so many people on here, they need help. you help them, then they help you. I posted something and in the next 10 seconds there were 2 replies.
all in all, whoever is complaining, go talk to the mods. the rest of us are quite happy with the way Help.com is set up.
