Russia Vs Georgia.

Okay, all of these reports are completely conflicting. How are we ever supposed to know what’s going on if we can’t trust any news? I’ve watched CNN, Yahoo, and RT (Russia today) and it’s all pointing fingers. How do we ever know which sides are truthful and which aren’t, in any conflict in the world? Is there a unbiased source? Anywhere?? I’d really like to know what’s really going on.

http://www.cnn.com/video/?iref=videog... CNN - Russia attacks Georgia
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1Hy4X... Russia Today
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhhyZj... Russian citizen speaks out

Here’s where it gets confusing. Russia claims that they wanted to instate a peace treaty, but Georgia didn’t want to sign it. This makes it seem like Georgia is to blame. BUT Russia is slaughtering civilians and is soo much bigger and more populated than Georgia. It also seems like the Russians are trying to drag the US into it. I will be the first to admit that the US sticks it’s nose where it doesn’t belong, on a good many cases, and I’m a US citizen. The Russians are saying that the US somehow instigated the situation. BUT even a top Russian scholar on the Russian Today news said that there’s no way the US could have because the conflict between Georgia and Russia has been going on for decades.

Does anyone know a good source for information? Valid, correct information? Does anyone know more about this, and can you inform us?

P.S. This will be a mature intellectual conversation or I will close it.

BBC. But it looks like that’s been suggested already.

All I know is Putin is a crazy bastard, and it all probably has something to do with him.

Ooh, good vocabulary! ‘Aspersions.’ I need to use that in a sentence sometime.

And I was mostly being facetious. But Putin really is a nutter.

I understand.

I’ve never tried to smoke and type at the same time. Sounds like a challenge I just may be willing to accept, were it not for the fact that I don’t smoke.

Erm, but yes, this does sound like a very interesting situation that I must look into a bit more. International politics astound me, although I’m currently focused on China’s political situation, and their relations to the States. Fascinating business, that.

You shouldn’t have mentioned muffins. Now I’m hungry.

Anyway, she’s probably asleep as of this writing.

As for the UK Super Police, that actually sounds pretty cool. Do they have laser swords and metal armour suits like Robocop or something (if Robocop had a laser sword, that is).

The red alert bit is a little scary. But then, there are always terrorist threats during the Olympics. Happens every time.

ugg sorry it took me so long to get back! this week has been absolutely crazy. I’m still swaying back and forth on the issue, but I’m thinking it’s russia who’s to blame.

I don’t necessarily mean that Georgia isn’t in part responsible for the escalate in the situation. But Russia does NOT need to be slaughtering so many civilians.

p.s. Mas, i’m trying to become a current affairs buff, but I don’t like to express my opinion on things unless I reallly really understand it, and I don’t feel that I know enough to fairly do so yet.
