Do most/all jobs train you once you are hired?

This might seem like a stupid question with an obvious answer, especially coming from a 24 year old. However, I have to say I’ve never had a job outside of the one for my parent’s company which I practically grew up in, where I was just told what to do, if I didn’t know how I was quickly briefed and left to do it on my own pretty much. I’m currently looking for a new job, I have a resume with lots of legitimate experience, but I find myself scared of moving on to a new job with other companies for fear that I will not know how to operate certain things, won’t know how to get things done, etc. and that no one will take the time out to show me. I think my main concern is fear of failure… I’m a perfectionist. One of the main types of jobs I’ve been looking at is for administrative assistant/personal assistant…FYI.

Would you say that almost every job you get has some form of training (formal and thorough or informal and quick)? Any information on this will help me out so much! Thanks.

I have not had much experience myself, but I would think that any normal job would provide a basic level of training so you can get used to how they operate and what you need to do. However I would think that the amount of training would depend on the position, if it was something like a trainee position then I would think there would be training but if it was normal it might only be enough to be operational.

But if you apply for a job, you can always ask in the interview about the training!
Sorry I cant be that much help.
