Cheapest internet service provider

What’s the cheapest ISP in the bay area?  Doesn’t matter cable or DSL, just some high speed stuff, no dial up crap!  Moving in to a new apartment in downtown San Jose, and I’m too lazy to go do my own research =P.  So how much are you guys paying?

DSL from a provider in Santa Rosa called Sonic.net. Costs us about $70/month for the fastest available (6mb down, 756kb up) and is pretty reliable. Only time we had trouble was when SBC’s lines went down — SBC….

If you have cable tv, get cable internet, it’ll be cheaper. The only reason I don’t like DSL is because you HAVE to buy the phone line — which is pointless. We all have cell phones, and the only people who call are telemarketers and people looking for previous residents.
