you’re making yourself nervous because you think you have to tell her you like her during the first conversation. You are getting ahead of yourself. Do what the person above said and start off that way. Just telling her you like her right off the bat could end badly. You might scare her off. She’ll put her guard on as now she sees you as a threat if you know what I mean.

I agree and that’s true. Girls like a bit of mystery to a man. You want to be asking her questions and letting her talk about herself. It’s much easier that way too for you. Just don’t be self-less and not say anything about yourself.
