Help, I got home and my slow cooker was off.
I had put a frozen roast in it at 7.30am and got home at 5.30pm. The roast was still very cool to the touch and was in red wine. Is it still safe to cook???????????

Where were you?

Yes, cook it. And use the stove, dont cheat and use a crock pot. Cooking is the fun part.
No, use the stove top, and enough with the wine on the roast. Wine is for drinking while you cook.
Wine is only used to hide the fact that you can’t cook.
I love drinking wine and cooking , however it is nice to come home to dinner already cooked ;)
Be nice now, wine is great for cooking
Season it, stuff with onions and bellpeppers, brown it(sear it) add water and simmer a couple3 hours. Drink the wine while u wait. Serve with white rice(has to be cooked too, no boil-in-bag rice, EVER!)and a vegtable.
But it already too late for that roast, the wine already ruined it, throw it away and start over. It wasnt the time sitting in the crockpot, it was that wine that you put it in that ruined it. Ha.
Ha, why dont you come over and cook it for me! you sound like you know what you are doing!! LOL Pretty Please
That I can do.
2 libras together, there would be alot cooking in that kitchen.
And you have your first shout libragirl12.
Hopefully you arent 12, if so sorry about that previous remark.
The worst incident in which I have seen, is a group of men who had hung an animal, which I had shot for them, hung it in a tree to keep it off the ground. It stayed there for 2 weeks, they returned cut off a hunk of meat off the hind quarters, cooked it on an open fire using an old plow disk for a grill, cooked it and they all ate. None sick. I didnt eat, I passed. Would not recomend that but for the day, no problem.
Well i am not 12 thank you, lets say early 30s, I have it on high in the crockpot. Yes I like to cook with wine, and I do get along famously with other Libras :)
Let’s hope I am not sick tomorrow, It does smell fantastic! I think I will take the chance! Lets all pray now LOL ;)
Libras are the romantic ones, that is what I was refering to when I said that. And yes I would like to come and cook it for you.
But regardless, give us an update on how you feel tomorrow. Julannhopkin seams to think otherwise and so you will have to say who had the correct answer.
And if you do get sick(which you won’t) I will go take care of you.
well my fellow Libra, you, I hope are the one with the correct answers, I, a fantastic libra woman loves when I am taken care of, so please do as promised;)
Hello again. I just never took a chance when it came to food. It was never worth saving the $10.00 and getting food poisoning. Just trying to help. Enjoy! I hope it turns out for all parties involved!!
Well I live in the Virgin Islands and 10.00 I wish, It was a $25.00 roast, $20.00 bottle of wine and 20.00 for the veg and seasoning!!! It is not cheap to live here :0
Lets hope I dont have to pay my MD a visit for another $50.00.
Thanks julan for your imput
I didn’t think you would. Still wouldnt help to be sure, I’m a dr. you know and I make house calls.
still wouldnt hurt, typing too fast, my fault, and got excited, your fault.
House calls? Hmmmmmmmmm I like the sound of that, great personal service, I could use a checkup! ;)
Actually not a doctor, actually don’t go to the dr. unless there is a bone sticking out of my skin. I have only been to the doctor for myself, once that I can recall, bone out the arm. Many stiches, but all taken care of by the vet, anything else treatur(witch dr.) has seen about.
I dont know why, it wasn’t naughty at all.
I would send you a shout if I wanted to be naughty. And if I did, it would be your fault for getting me all rawled up, hot like you are and all.
