Just when I was all excited about getting back home
to call my boyfriend and fulfill other scheduled plans after all this time, we get from Galapagos to Guayaquil only to find that our travel agency messed up the flight schedule for us. You see, the plan was to go from Galapagos to Guayaquil to San Jose to NYC to home from there, so we would have been back at around 5 A.M. Saturday morning. The messy part? Well, it turns out that the person who booked us from here to San Jose didn’t acknowledge the closing time for boarding the flight to San Jose. We were left unaware that we were supposed to check in for that flight over an hour before it was scheduled to take off. Our flight from the islands got us here an hour beforehand, but since we had to get our baggage from the baggage claim, the schedule was too tight for us to make it on time. Which we think is bull, since we still had 45 minutes before the flight actually left by the time we tried checking in. And we found out that OUR seats were GIVEN to OTHER MOTHEREFFERS. We told the people at the check-in counter that none of this was our fault, explaining everything, but since they couldn’t get us on, they told us that we were stuck because there aren’t any other flights to San Jose for several days. I would have asked Dad to book a flight to a different city other than San Jose so we could still get back to NYC by tomorrow, but he said that the people at the check-in counter checked all the other possible flights, saying they were booked…
In other words, we are STUCK in this place for days! I have to sacrifice so much **** for this: field hockey, a Broadway show with a friend, driver’s ed training, and I have to keep my boyfriend waiting and waiting to see me. I am doing my best to keep myself organized but still feel like my life is a shithole at present…
