computer help: I’m a writer about environmental/political/economic concerns. - Help.com

I’m a writer about environmental/political/economic concerns.

I’m not an arquitect, urbanologist or engineer, yet, while writing about worldwide environmental (and political, and economic) problems I reached the conclusion that one of the basic causes of these problems was the obsolete design of our cities, rich and poor, everywhere; cause that has been recognized as such (without ever suggesting a cure) by many arquitects, urbanologists and engineers. So I made a new urban design myself. It is the unprofessional and very basic design of what should be (for me) a self-sustained, self-sufficient, environmentally friendly city of one million people, and directed this design to the new cities (thousands of them) that will have to be built in the developing and underdeveloped regions of the world if we seriously want to control and then reverse related perils like global warming, climatic changes, deforestation, desertification, lack of potable water, etc., that took decades and even centuries to develop. While developing this subject I also reached the conclusion that it could not be explained in a book, and that it had to be shown (or be demonstrated) in a movie with the help of modern animations. I’ve taken this as far as I can without professional help, which is what I’m hereby requesting. What I need, specifically and as a very first step, is the help, or collaboration, of someone who can do a computerized version of my urban design. It need not be the detailed blueprint of a new city, but it will have to be the general description or representation of the multiple characteristics that will make of this new self-sustained, self-sufficient city an environmentally friendly one. I’m ready to provide more info about myself and more details of my project to those able and willing to help me or to collaborate with me.

You’re kind of behind the times here. It’s being done all over the world. There’s even a TV show on Discovery about a town doing it after being wiped out by a hurricane. (Greensburg, Kansas) Google “building green”.

most environmental problems must be solved by us not consuming as much stuff.
The energy situation will be completely solved by “cold fusion”.
This energy source is abundant and extremely cheap and decentralized.
It works and is being developed as we speak.

Things like glass bottles are being thrown away when they should be made
of a substantial design which can be returned to the store and refilled
over and over again. Make the deposit price so high that no one would throw them away.Like two dollars each.

If you took a Rolls-Royce apart and spread all the parts out in a big gymnasium
and then you took apart a American made car and spread all its parts out.
You would find that they both have the same number of parts.
Yet we all know that the Rolls-Royce lasts many times that of the American car.
Why can’t a manufacturer simply manufacture Rolls-Royce’s using modern
Mass production processes. The Rolls-Royce might only cost 25% more than the American
made model.

Try posting on a UCLA/USC website where kids graduate in the television & film industry after you have financial backing for your project.

From Jurid. I appreciate very much the replies to my request for help, and it’s probably my fault that almost all miss my intentions because I didn’t explain in my initial message with total clarity the purpose of my so-called new or revolutionary urban design. IT IS NOT DIRECTED TO DEVELOPED OR INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRIES LIKE THE USA. It is directed to what constitutes the majority of the people on Earth: the middle and lower economic classes of the developing and under-developed countries, especially those located in the tropical and sub-tropical areas of the world. And because it is in these classes where the world will gain in the next two or three decades two billion more people! I believe that phenomena like global warming and the consequent melting of the ice in poles and glaciers already has an unstoppable inertia that will cause, no matter what we do or fail to do, the gradual rising of the levels of our intercommunicated oceans, and the gradual flooding of our costal areas. Which needn’t be the end of the world as we know it, provided that we initiate, now, coordinated actions; which brings us to the political part of the environmental problem…… There is, of course, much, much more, and I’ll gladly share it with all those interested or concerned. Special thanks to “Anonymous” for his/her tip about UCLA/USC graduates in the TV and film industries…after obtaining financial backing, which will always be the crucial part.
